As an organisation working with widows,women and vulnerable families.we recognise climate change disproportiontely affects marginalized groups through drought, food insecurity water scarcity and loss of livelihoods .we therefore remain committed to promoting environmental conservation climate resilience and sustainable development within our communities.

Today we join the global community in calling for urgent climate action and reaffirm our commitment to protecting our environmnet for present and futuregeneration.

Healthcare continues to be a key focus area for the Organization,we recently took time to register widows for the social Health care Authority SHA,ensuring
they can access affordable and quality health care services,

This exercise wad made possible through the support of Narok North CDF led by our area of of Parliament Hon Agnes Pareyio.we are grateful for her commitment to improving the welfare of widows and vulnerable members of our community.
More Widows will continue to be registered to ensure that no one is left behind in accessing health care.

Alternative justice system (AJS) continue to be one of the key avenues that the organization uses to ensure justice and protection of their rights.

Today the chairperson Milly Naisho and the CEO Nelly Sopia, accompanied one of it’s members Eunice Kashu and her Children to attend the hearing and proceedings of her case as part of the organization’s continued commitment to standing with widows in their pursuit for justice dignity and fair treatment.

Through community support,legal accomplishment and advocacy, MAA Widows remain dedicated to ensuring that no widow walks the journey of seeking justice alone.

Traditional birth Attendants(TBA) continue to play a very important role in our society,especially in rural and marginalized communities where access to healthcare remains limited.they are trusted by community members and provide essential maternal care, guidance and support to pregnant women before, during and after childbirth.

However due to emerging birth complications associated with lifestyle diseases such as diabetes,hypertension, obesity and other maternal health conditions, there is an urgent need to strengthen their knowledge and skills through continuous training and capacity building.

Beadwork continues to be a reliable source of income generating activity IGA for many widows and women in Maasai community,However its full potential has not yet been realized.with the right support and support and support and investment, beadwork can be strengthened and scaled to higher levels of impact, sustainability and income.

To reinforce and scale beadwork as a sustainable livelihood, several key need attention.
First skills enhancement and innovation.
Second,Improving access to markets.
Integrating beadwork into broader programs such as cultural preservation, tourism and women’s empowerment initiatives can elevate its value beyond just income.
Beadwork is not only an economic activity but also a strong expression of Maasai identity and heritage.

Climate Justice and Environmental Conservation remains are key Priority.

The organization leadership, led by the Chairperson Millicent Naisho and the CEO Nelly,Joined the NACADA county coordinator Christine Koshal, in a tree planting Exercise at Lenana Primary School.

Together with Teachers and Pupils, the team planted trees as part of a collective effort to promote environmental sustainability and raise awareness on the importance of protecting our environment for future generation.

The Maasai Women Leadership Forumbetween Narok and Laikipia Counties, held in Nanyuki has successfully come to an end, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This milestone strengthens our commitment to continue working together for the betterment of our communities, recognizing the many significant similarities we share.
