Mags's little calf has had enough exploring for one day and quickly runs back to Mama!

Mags is a female elephant whom we have known for many years, and while she is familiar with us, her young one is still growing to understand the world around him and depends on her guidance.

For now, brief, curious forays are quite enough, and he much prefers staying within quick access to and the protection of his mother and family.

Elephants are highly social, family oriented, and emotionally intelligent as a species. They communicate using their own complex, advanced language, which is fascinating in itself.

For us, no matter how much time we spend in the presence of elephants, as well as other species, it is always an honour.

Tassia, the elephant, looked quite stunning in this lovely evening light with her family.

There is something unique about Tassia's left ear. Can you spot it?

These photos were captured by the Elephant Aware rangers and team while on a patrol this week.

Such breathtaking scenes as this give us a deep sense of inspiration and remind us of why our conservation mission is important:

Working to secure a future for elephants, all wildlife, and the habitat on which they depend for the benefit of all in the Mara ecosystem.

A little elephant/wilderness therapy you can relax to and enjoy!

Our team is privileged to experience moments like this frequently during our daily conservation work, and yet it is always a delight.

Thank you to our supporters who make our continuous efforts - and scenes such as this - possible.

Conservation is an uphill challenge every day, but so much can be achieved through dedication, passion, and collaboration.

Hello there! 🐘🐘

Look who came to visit the rangers today!

Just as they were on the verge of starting another patrol early this morning, the Elephant Aware HQ Unit noticed that the elephants had instead decided to stop by our base!

While this is certainly not an unusual occurrence, it is always a very special experience!

Meet Norlari's new baby!

Here in the Mara ecosystem, we are experiencing a bit of our own baby boom, and our team has recorded a number of births amongst different elephant families.

Such "baby booms" in elephants as well as many other wildlife species often correspond with the rainy season, and we usually see the most newborns when the area is lush, green, and when resources are plentiful.

Every birth is cause for celebration, and we are delighted for Norlari's family!

On World Biodiversity Day, we join many globally in recognising the sobering plight of so many species and simultaneously raising awareness to highlight the immeasurable value of our planet's biodiversity.

At the same time, we celebrate the wonder of our precious natural heritage and how we must act NOW to protect it.

Wherever you are, you can make a difference. We can all do our part to give back and secure a future for wildlife and their habitats.

But TOGETHER we can do so much more good.

Please consider supporting conservation efforts through projects on the ground like ours, lending your voice to causes that matter and getting involved in environmental stewardship, whether it is locally or on the other side of the world, every act of good helps.

Let each of us as individuals unite to be a force for good for our environment, for our wildlife, and for our biodiversity.

While coexistence is crucial between humans and our wild neighbours, relationships between species are equally important. There is no question that we can learn much from elephants as well as other species with whom we share this planet.

Here, a flock of Helmeted Guinea Fowl find themselves in good company with Nosentui and her family.

Every species has a role and deserves to live wild, free, and safe within their own ecosystems.
