Conserve Maasai Mara Organization is requesting for support of the annual tree planting project in Maasai Mara Ecosystem.
Conserve Maasai Mara Org has selected 20 schools, 1000 Tree seedlings in each school. Each school has an average of 700 students. The students will not only be helping with the planting of the 20,000 tree seedlings but will have the responsibility to water and nurture the trees to full growth.
Each student will have 2-3 trees that is their sole responsibility. This was the strategy that was adopted by Conserve Maasai Mara organization.
More than just planting trees this fantastic project also teaches school children and the community the responsibility to care for something where they will see real results from their efforts and learn why conservation is so important.
We believe this is a magical experience for young children and will produce the next conservationists in Kenya. The tree seedlings will be planted during this rainy season on March and April and at the end of the high season (tourism) and before the short rains in November the team will visit the schools and the children who have done the best job of caring for their personal trees will be selected to go on safari for wildlife sighting in the Maasai Mara National Reserve.
This project does not stop with just planting and caring for the trees. Conserve Maasai Mara is also training the youth to establish a tree nursery to raise seedlings for reforestation, future plantings and provide income to the community for sustainability. When a community such as the Maasai benefit from conservation they will protect and preserve it.

Retaliatory killing through poisoning is catastrophic. This act is unacceptable, unlawful, and will not be tolerated. Poison does not discriminate. It kills lions, wipes out vultures and other scavengers, contaminates soil and water, and poses grave risks to children, livestock, and entire ecosystems. When people resort to poisoning, the damage extends far beyond the original conflict and far beyond a single moment of anger.

Human–wildlife conflict is fundamentally different from poaching. While poaching is often transactional, conflict is emotional—rooted in fear, anger, loss, and identity. Left unchecked, emotionally driven retaliation can lead to local extinction: the silent disappearance of species from landscapes where they once thrived. History has shown us this, and we must not repeat it.

We therefore call upon all conservation partners, communities, and institutions to urgently come together to strengthen sustainable, locally grounded solutions that promote harmonious coexistence.
Initiatives such as the Predator Compensation Fund and other innovative mechanisms must be strengthened and expanded, as they play an important role in cushioning communities against losses. However, compensation alone cannot be an ultimate solution. While it may ease immediate pain, it does not address the deeper structural drivers of conflict.

At the heart of this crisis lie rapid and uncoordinated land-use change, weak and delayed response systems, inadequate investment in prevention, and a growing erosion of trust between communities and institutions. Unless these root causes are confronted decisively and together, cycles of retaliation will persist, placing both livelihoods and wildlife at continued risk.

We are at a crossroads. Human–wildlife conflict is no longer a secondary issue, nor is it less urgent than poaching. It demands equal attention, resources, innovation, and a government institutions will.

We are resetting our conservation approach to meet the realities of this moment. This will be anchored on faster and more visible conflict-response mechanisms, firm enforcement against poisoning and all wildlife crimes, and serious investment in prevention rather than reaction. We will strengthen conservation education to reach our children early—before fear and intolerance take root—and pursue land-use planning that recognises buffer zones and wildlife corridors as living systems essential to both pastoral livelihoods and ecosystem survival, not as sacrifice zones.

Community empowerment through education and advocacy on sustainable livelihoods and practices with positive impact on nature and wildlife. Passion, Culture preservation, dedication, Trust, Love, Integrity, Research and Innovation are our guiding principles.

Acknowledgement of textbooks donation to Sekenani Comprehensive School donated by the Desai Foundation through Conserve Maasai Mara Organization. Sekenani Comprehensive School highly appreciates this kind gesture. We believe the books will be instrumental in the improvement of academic performance in the school. They say that if you educate children you empower a nation. When children have a well rounded education with access to enriching learning resources, not only will this have positive impact on their life, but often the lives of those around them, including any families they may raise down the road.

The importance of environmental conservation.

The scope of environmental conservation is broad and multifaceted. It includes efforts to combat climate change, manage natural resources sustainably, and reduce human impact on ecosystems. It also involves advocacy and education to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.

Protecting biodiversity

Our planet thrums with an incredible diversity of life, each with a role to play in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. When habitats are destroyed, or pollution goes unchecked, it throws a wrench in the works, driving many plants and animals toward extinction. This loss of biodiversity threatens food security, access to clean water, and the delicate balance of our ecosystems.

In this post, we’ll dive into the significance of environmental conservation and explore how you can take action. Whether you're passionate about tree seedlings planting, reducing waste, conserving water, protecting wildlife, or promoting clean energy, Conserve Maasai Mara Organization run numerous environmental projects that need your help. Get involved and make a real impact. So, if you're ready to embrace sustainable living and join the fight for our planet, Kindly visit the website link below to donate.
