🌿 Yesterday, 12th October 2024, Naromoru Disabled Children's Home participated in the celebrations led by Miti AllianceFounder, Michael Waiyaki. We kicked off at Kabanga Comprehensive School, planting a variety of indigenous trees and vegetables. Later, we explored the Miti Alliance Tree Museum and learned about the Miyawaki Tree Planting methodβ€”a technique we’re excited to implement at our center and in the Naromoru community!

Naromoru Disabled Children's Home provides orthopedic rehabilitation for children with disabilities while promoting green initiatives as part of our community engagement efforts. This includes raising awareness on disability, rights of persons with disabilities, early interventions, corrective surgeries, and community based inclusive development programs, supported by CBM Christian Blind Mission

We were also thrilled to meet Pure Plant Organics , who are revolutionizing soil health with their biochar-based amendments. Their innovative approach enhances soil fertility and contributes to carbon sequestration, offering exciting opportunities for sustainable farming and conservation.

Looking forward to more collaborations with Miti Alliance and Pure Plant Organics in our mission to build a greener, disability inclusive & healthier future for our communities and beyond! πŸŒ±πŸ’š

Mount Kenya Challenge 2024

The Mount Kenya Challenge has become an annual cornerstone event, bringing together the spirited community of Naromoru and its neighboring areas in Nyeri County. In both 2022 and 2023, the event demonstrated remarkable success in supporting children undergoing pre and post operative care at Naromoru Disabled Children's Home

Nestled in the scenic landscapes surrounding Naromoru, the one-day hike from Naromoru Park Gate to Met Station and back transcends being merely a physical journey; it is a testament to the community's dedication to creating a positive impact. The camaraderie among participants, local businesses, and volunteers fosters an atmosphere of shared purpose and community pride.

In 2022, the Mt. Kenya Challenge showcased the community's commitment to meaningful causes. Building on this success, the 2023 edition surpassed all expectations, doubling the fundraising achievement to create an inspiring impact.
The event's triumph is rooted in its ability to blend community engagement with a shared love for the breathtaking natural surroundings.

This year, the Mt. Kenya Challenge continues its legacy on *June 1st, 2024. * Enthusiastic participants are warmly invited to join this noble cause, register, and be part of a day filled with purpose, unity, and the joy of giving back. Together, let's climb for a noble cause and make a lasting impact on our beloved community by putting a smile on a child's face in the spirit of our motto " Rise and Walk".
