After attaining your degree or diploma you have defeated illiteracy, not poverty. That is a different battle altogether and the streets are waiting.

Financial war is not waged in books but in boots. Many sit back expecting money to come to them because they're learned. The only thing that comes to them is disappointment and bitterness.

You're carrying head knowledge and vocabulary, which are good raw materials, but money responds to problems solved and the proceeds strategically managed.

The market pays you a competitive salary, which simply means comparatively better than other employers. That means they're all paying you just enough to keep you at their business.

It's never based on your value but rather on conditions in the market, also called demand and supply.

If you depend on a system that's offering you the minimum possible for your growth and liberation, you're waiting for shock.

You should view salary as seed to sow into your real dreams. Into your Project Freedom.

But if you use it to fund your lifestyle as many do, you have swallowed the bait of dependency on employment. You will be remote controlled by employers all your life.

If you channel a percentage of your wages to investment and self improvement, however, your transformation will be slow and steady yet unstoppable.

Even if you can only separate 20% or 10%, be consistent with it and every year you'll see new options opening for you because of it.

Your comeback will terrify those who only knew the wounded you. Your growth will unsettle those who were accustomed to your smallness.

Your boundaries will annoy those who rode on your fear and your speaking up will irritate those who depended on your silence.

When you start your journey upwards and onwards, expect the greatest resistance from those you used to call friends and acquaintances.

Growth comes with grief because not every fan can follow when it's time to go up.

Accept the goodbyes as a sacrifice for the season and keep on moving.

One of the girls shouted, “Tokeni, dorm inachomeka!”

The cry pierced the thick night air around 12:45 a.m. on May 28, 2026, inside the Meline Waithera (Melene Oyiera) dormitory at Utumishi Girls Academy in Gilgil, Nakuru County. Panic erupted through the senior girls’ block, where mostly Form 3 and Form 4 students were asleep. Thick smoke spread rapidly as flames consumed highly flammable mattresses, turning the dormitory into an inferno within minutes.

This reconstruction is based on survivor accounts, official statements, police investigations, and consistent official reports as of May 29, 2026. It's not speculation.

Girls scrambled through the darkness as screams filled the dormitory. Some desperately banged on doors that would not open. The dormitory doors, including emergency exits, had been locked from the outside — a dangerous but common practice in many Kenyan boarding schools meant to prevent students from sneaking out at night. The keys were with matrons who were not immediately available.

Students rushed toward windows in a desperate attempt to escape. From the second floor, some jumped to avoid the flames and suffocating smoke, while others remained trapped inside.

Investigations indicate that a group of Form 3 girls intentionally set a mattress on fire. Petrol smell had reportedly been noticed earlier, and there were prior warnings about 15 litres of petrol brought near the school. CCTV footage and witness statements led police to detain 10 students as arson investigations continue.

Emergency response was delayed as firefighters took time to arrive and contain the blaze. Overcrowding and highly flammable materials accelerated the spread of the fire.

In the end, 16 girls aged between 15 and 18 lost their lives.

Around 74–79 students suffered injuries ranging from burns and smoke inhalation to severe trauma. Some victims were airlifted for specialized treatment. One grieving mother died in a road accident while rushing to the school after hearing.

Give but don't allow yourself to be used. Love but don't allow your heart to be abused.

Trust but don't ignore the signs. Listen but don't lose your own voice.

Be kind without becoming naive. Be patient but know when your time is being wasted.

Forgive without reopening doors that repeatedly led to your destruction. You have a good heart, not a gullible head.

Support people but don't carry responsibilities that belong to them.

Be long suffering but not forever suffering.

If someone is trying to lose you, help them. Accommodate people's struggles but don't allow to be walked over.

You were never meant to save everyone at the expense of yourself.
