Caritas Nakuru serves communities in the two counties of Nakuru and Baringo (an area of 18,203 Km2 with 2,158,886 inhabitants (1,083,663 males and 1,075,223 females according to 2009 Population and Housing Census). Caritas Nakuru’s Vision is A community of Love where the Every Person is dignified; and the mission is To evangelise through pastoral and human development. Caritas Nakuru facilitates 1

5 diocesan Programmes, 47 Parishes and over 100 institutions in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all development activities in the Diocese. The Office is therefore a central point in conducting baseline surveys, proposal development, project implementation, monitoring and evaluation and reporting; including networking and collaboration with national, regional and international partners. Some of the projects implemented by Programmes under Caritas Nakuru include:

1. Livelihoods (especially in East Pokot)
3. Rehabilitation of Commercial S*x Workers (Women of Destiny)
5. Support to persons with disability
6. Water drilling, spring protection, construction of masonry and ferro cement water tanks, construction of pan dams and roof catchment systems.
7. Water defluoridation (removing excess fluoride from water to make it safe for human consumption)
8. Justice and peace
