Today, as we celebrate Madaraka Day, we honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and the heroes who paved the way for a self-governing Kenya. Their courage, resilience, and patriotism continue to inspire us to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.

As residents of Menengai East Ward, let us embrace unity, hard work, and peaceful coexistence as we work together towards a brighter future for our community. Let this day remind us that true freedom comes with responsibility—the responsibility to serve, uplift one another, and contribute positively to the development of our ward and our country.

My heart is deeply saddened by the tragic fire that has gutted the learners' dormitory at Utumishi Academy Gilgil. I stand in solidarity with the parents, students, teachers, and the entire school fraternity during this painful moment.

My sincere condolences go to the families who have lost their beloved young daughters in this heartbreaking tragedy. No parent should endure such pain of losing a child in such a manner.

As a community and as a nation, may we come together in prayer, support, and comfort for all those affected. May the Almighty grant strength to the bereaved families, healing to the injured, and peace to the souls of the departed.

You chose to take your silent rest in a way that many never expected, for silence was never your norm. Social media would always light up whenever you posted content, and many would react by saying, “Udaku haipendi goigoi.” You were known for speaking facts boldly and fearlessly. Though not everyone would comfortably share a cup of coffee with you on the same table, you still managed to create both friends and foes along the journey of life.

Your presence could never be ignored, and your voice will surely be missed by many.

May the Lord grant you eternal rest, and may He give peace and strength to your family, friends, and all who knew you during this difficult moment.
