What happens after escape?

For thousands who flee war, conflict, and loss, safety is only the beginning. Kakuma Refugee Camp in northern Kenya is home to over 200,000 people from across Africa and beyond—each carrying a story of survival. But beyond the headlines and humanitarian aid lies a deeper reality: the quiet, ongoing struggle of the mind, identity, and hope.

This documentary steps into that space. Watch it on YouTube.

A Heart of Thanksgiving.

This past year has been a journey—filled with moments of great joy, and others that stretched our faith in ways we did not expect. Yet through it all, one thing remains constant: God’s faithfulness.

As a team, we took time to come before God in thanksgiving—not because everything was perfect, but because He has been present in every step. Thanksgiving is not just for the good moments; it is a posture of the heart, even in uncertainty, even in lack, even in waiting.

We give thanks for every life reached, every heart healed, every door opened, and even for the challenges that shaped us along the way.

We invite you to reflect:
What are you choosing to thank God for today, regardless of your circumstances?

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines… yet I will rejoice in the Lord.” — Book of Habakkuk 3:17

August Holiday Update – A Month of Impact!

The month of August has been a busy but deeply fulfilling one for us at WAPE. Here’s a glimpse of what God has allowed us to do together:

18th – 23rd August: We trained 23 new Facilitators in Debriefing, equipping them to walk alongside caregivers and wounded healers. Soon after, from 2nd – 4th September, they successfully ran their practicum at Nakuru Main Prisons, offering hope and healing to inmates.

27th & 28th August: Our team traveled for the Kakuma School of Reconciliation Follow-Up, checking in with the newly certified facilitators. We celebrate their resilience even as they face the ongoing challenge of reduced food rations within the camps. Please keep them in your prayers.

27th – 29th August: Together with our partners World Renew, we conducted an HHTN Workshop for Turkana County Government Officials in Lodwar. The presence of the County Secretary and Deputy signaled a promising step towards lasting peace and reconciliation in a county long affected by conflict.

We are humbled by all that God is doing through these spaces and the lives being touched.

Would you join us in prayer:
- For the new facilitators in Kakuma and their communities.
- For transformation within Nakuru Main Prisons.
- For sustainable peace in Turkana County and beyond.

Feel free to drop us a comment, prayer, or word of encouragement below.

"Does God even love me? Why does He allow for me to go through so much suffering?"

These are the questions that Regina struggled with for a long time before encountering A Loving Father, in the depths of Suffering.

Enjoy her story and leave a like & comment behind. Don't forget to subscribe.

Regina's story is one that echoes those of many living within the Kakuma Refugee Camp. A place heavy with the weight of dreams that desire to be actualized o...
