Across flower farms, women rise before dawn to harvest the blooms that travel the world, yet they are often hit hardest by climate change and gender injustice and heard the least.
Rising temperatures and water scarcity are disrupting harvests, threatening wages and livelihoods. At home, these same women walk further for water, stretch shrinking incomes and often face unsafe conditions both on and off the farm.
We brought women flower farm workers together for a training on climate-resilient practices, and created a safe space for them to talk openly about the gender & Climate injustices they face. They left with positive coping skills, greater confidence and a stronger voice.
