Planting More Than Trees ๐ฑ
On a warm afternoon in Lower Subukia, children gather around small seedlings, their hands in the soil and curiosity in the air.
โHow long should we water this tree, for it to grow?โ one child asks.
Through Leona Foundationโs training, children are not just learning how to plant trees they are learning how to care for them. Each child nurtures their own seedling, watering it, protecting it and watching it grow. They nametag their trees, check on them after school and celebrate every new leaf.
What begins as a simple activity becomes something deeper. Children start asking questions about water, climate and forests. They carry these lessons home, becoming young ambassadors of change in their families and communities.
By putting children at the center of restoration, we are not just growing trees we are growing a generation that understands responsibility, empathy and the power of nurturing life.
Because in the end, as the trees growโฆ so do they.
