There is nothing that makes me happy than seeing positive transformation of our area, the above pictures is the situation of Kasarani centre taken two years ago,the first picture is highway from stage to petrol station and the other one is beside bilashaka-shalimar camp road,it was full of scattered wastes everywhere,the third one is the piled waste beside the lake,waste has negative effects both on health and environment,to humans and animals especially those living under water as when it rains all the wastes get washed into the Lake, today I went round the centre from Kasarani to Kosovo and was impressed by the great Change of this area in terms of cleanliness,the fourth and fifth picture is the same roads and some streets within Kasarani taken today and you can see how clean they are,I like how people have embraced waste management by placing the waste appropriately,the remaining challenge is the drainages which have never been cleaned since and I believe it's a step at a time we will be there one day.
The second challenge is the location of the main dumpsite which is over 50 kilometers away ,this makes it very expensive to transport the waste, the burden will be relieved when Gilgil Sub-county will have a dumpsite as it will reduce the distance thus reducing the cost.
cleanliness is second to Godliness,let's continue embracing proper waste management,conserve our environment,protect our wildlife and plant trees whenever you get a chance to.
Among the groups doing this amazing job to ensure we live in a clean and tidy environment is NorthLake Environmental Friends (Mazingira Bora)*.
Their dedication to this course has been bearing fruits.

Sport is an important activity in the society as it helps in promoting physical and mental health, fostering social interaction, building community spirit, providing a sense of accomplishment, developing leadership skills, and serving as a tool for social change and inclusion.
Today the team manager for Kasarani Volleyball club Mr.Tom paid our group Northlake Environmental Friends (Mazingira Bora) a courtesy call and briefed us about their upcoming volleyball tournament that will be held on 9th Feb 2025 at Kasarani Ngurumoki ground,it will include various away teams.
We have given the team some small financial support to make the event a success and we pledged for more support in future.apart from ensuring Kasarani is clean Northlake Environmental Friends also supports community empowerment activities for a better future.
The team invites anyone of good will to support them.
We wish our team all the best to emerge victorious in this tournament.

2025 World Wetlands Day under the theme *'Protecting Wetlands for our Common Future,'* we are reminded of the critical mission of the Convention on Wetlands in conserving ecosystems, the future of the species living there in and our communities relying on them.As Northlake Environmental Friends (Mazingira Bora Kasarani we urge each and everyone to be part of conserving our Environments by reducing/stopping water pollution.

On 6th and 13th of September 2024 NORTHLAKE ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDS (mazingira Bora), issued waste bins to Landlords of Kasarani and Kosovo respectively, we would like to Thank Bilashaka Flowers management and Bilashaka Fair trade premium Committee for the kind donation of the Bins.
The bins will greatly boost waste management in Kasarani,there is great improvement in terms of cleanliness of this centre.

We would like to make it clear that the waste bins were issued free and no one should be asked for any money to get the bin.
If there is any case of the sort reach us so we can expose the person.
Let's continue being part of making Kasarani and Kosovo Clean.
Let's be counted,let's be part of this noble course.

NORTHLAKE ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDS ( Mazingira Bora C.B.O) through it's quest for a safe and clean environment by offering efficient waste management services within Kasarani and it's environs, would like to thank Bilashaka flowers and Bilashaka Fare trade management committee for donating Waste bins to the C.B.O to be distributed to Landlords ,the waste bins will help in waste collection within the Plots awaiting collection, yesterday The Kasarani Landlords received a waste bin each where they much appreciated as we plan for Kosovo landlords who will be issued next week.
The Landlords meeting was attended by Area Chief madam Sarah,Health officer Madam Betty and Gilgil Environmental officer where they congratulated the CBO for the good job they are doing as there is great change of cleanliness in Kasarani.
We would like to urge landlords and tenants to make use of the bins to litter the wastes appropriately.
In recent days there have been great improvements in Kasarani with reduced waste which makes our town look clean.waste have many health effects and if well managed we can all have a healthy centre.
