Our Story

IAS Kenya is a non-governmental organisation registered under the NGO Coordination Board in Kenya. IAS Kenya was registered in 1994 and is affiliated globally to both IAS Alliance and programme countries. The organisation was re-registered as an independent, autonomous local/national NGO in 2017 with a local governing board.

IAS Kenya has grown from its role as a coordinating hub for Somalia's and South Sudan's humanitarian support services to a national organisation that contributes to human development initiatives. This growth and expansion will require building requisite internal capacities critical to its mission, vision and strategic goals.

IAS Kenya focuses on the development of civil society, humanitarian and development projects where churches and community-based organisation partnerships and projects have developed into well-established programmes within IAS Kenya priority sectors of work and geographical focus. The team in Kenya works closely together with the local partners when implementing projects. We are implementing projects through or with partners in Garissa, Makueni, Nairobi, Tharaka and Nakuru. Plans are under way to expand to North Eastern region in Marsabit County.
