Music gets attention in a way few things can. 🎵

For many children with autism, music creates focus, connection, calm, and engagement almost instantly. It reaches places that conversations, instructions, and routines sometimes struggle to reach.

This is why music therapy and musical engagement matter so much — because behind every rhythm is an opportunity for learning, expression, and connection. 🧠❤️

Sometimes the right song does more than entertain.
It unlocks a child’s world.

Music is more than sound — it’s brain science. 🎶🧠

From regulation and memory to emotion and communication, music has a powerful impact on the brain, especially for neurodivergent individuals. Sometimes healing, connection, and expression begin with a single note. 💙

At the Saad Bilal Autism Foundation, we see the strength, patience, sacrifice, and unconditional love that mothers pour into their children’s lives daily, especially mothers raising children on the autism spectrum.

Thank you for being advocates, protectors, teachers, and safe spaces for your children. Your journey is powerful, and your love leaves a lasting impact on the world.

As we close our April Autism Awareness series, we just want to say thank you 💙

Thank you for learning with us, for listening, for sharing and for showing up for our children and families.

Our journey doesn’t stop here. Awareness is something we carry with us every single day and we’re committed to keeping the conversation going.

There’s still so much more to share, more stories to tell and more impact to make.

Stay with us… we’re just getting started.

We’re ending April with a BANG 💙

Part 2 of our conversation with the founder of Music in Color Ltd, Joan Karanja is now live and it brings our Autism Awareness Month series at SBAF to a close.

This episode goes deeper, into collaboration, support systems and what it really takes to care for children on the autism spectrum in a more holistic way.

But even as April ends, our journey doesn’t. Awareness doesn’t stop here… and neither do we.

We’ll keep learning, keep sharing and keep connecting with experts all to better support our children and families.

Because the need doesn’t end on May 1st 💙

Excited to share Part 1 of a really special conversation 💙

As part of our journey at the Saad Bilal Autism Foundation (SBAF), we’re not just raising awareness — we’re learning, asking questions, and connecting with people who are doing meaningful work in the autism space.

In this interview, we sit down with the founder of Music in Color Ltd Joan Karanja and we talk about something many of us may not have thought about deeply before… the role of music in supporting children on the autism spectrum. And honestly, it was eye-opening.

We spoke about how music can help with communication, emotional regulation and connection — especially for children who may struggle to express themselves in traditional ways.
But what really stayed with me was this…

Sometimes the things that help our children the most are not always the most complicated. Sometimes, it’s the simple things we can start right at home.

And as parents… let’s be real, we’re all trying things and hoping something sticks 😅

So if this conversation encourages you to try something new — even if it’s just adding a little more music into your child’s day — then it’s worth it. Because connection doesn’t always start with words 💙

Still smiling from this moment 💙

Sharing more clips from the Autism Awareness Cycling Event in Mombasa—this time, the dancing!

Organized by Blooming Bud Center for Special Needs Children, this part of the day captured something really special.

In the middle of the walk, we paused… and just danced. No pressure, no expectations—just pure joy, freedom, and connection. And honestly, it said more about inclusion than any speech ever could.

Because this is what it should feel like—spaces where our children can be themselves, where they are celebrated, not corrected. Where joy is not limited.
