Access to opportunity changes everything.
Before Zuri, many women already had the skills, ideas, and determination to build businesses. What often stood in their way was not ambition, but access to finance.
In Kenya, only 7% of women-owned MSMEs are estimated to have formal access to finance (IFC, 2024).
But when access is created, everything shifts. A small loan becomes a business. A business becomes income. Income becomes independence. And independence transforms families and communities.

Through Zuri’s SOCCS system, she collected 500 points, which translated into 5,000 KSh.
She used it to invest in her tailoring shop , a business that now supports her and sells additional commodities within her community.
But the real shift goes beyond income.
As a woman living with a disability in Kibera, Jennifer had often been overlooked ,seen as less than.
Today, she stands as an active contributor in her community, building, earning, and creating her own path.
This is what happens when impact is not just encouraged ,but structured, recognized, and rewarded.

When Jacinta walked into Zuri on January 14th, 2019, she was an intern looking for “something different.” She didn’t know what a social business was—she just knew she was intrigued.
Fast forward to today, and that intrigue has blossomed into a career defined by leadership and social impact. As a Project Manager, Jacinta hasn’t just witnessed the Zuri model; she’s helped build the bridge between underserved communities and the change they crave.
“I stayed because I realized I had more to give.”
