The session focused on practical strategies and tactics for nurturing donor relationships beyond the initial contributionβ€”including meaningful engagement, demonstrating impact, communicating progress, recognising donor contributions and building trust.

The Board and staff also undertook an elaborate pitching exercise focused on getting the Inclusion Africa story clear, compelling and persuasive. The team worked on developing both a short and a longer version of the Inclusion Africa story, sharpening the organisation’s value proposition and learning how to communicate not only what Inclusion Africa does but also the true change it aspires to see.

INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES FOR RAISING RESOURCES

During the Inclusion Africa Board and Staff Training on Resource Mobilisation, the team explored innovative fundraising strategies beyond traditional grant funding.

This included examining opportunities to engage the corporate sector, high-net-worth individuals and technology-enabled fundraising channels, with a focus on diversifying Inclusion Africa’s funding base, reaching new audiences and unlocking resources from a wider range of partners.

TODAY, Inclusion Africa is a key panelist at the β€œWomen and Girls with Disabilities at the Table” knowledge and information session on the African Disability Protocol (ADP), organised by Sightsavers in partnership with the African Disability Forum (ADF).

The regular sessions provide a platform for participants to deepen their understanding of the ADP, strengthen their capacity to influence policy processes, and enhance leadership and meaningful participation in efforts towards the ratification, domestication and implementation of the Protocol.

It is with profound sadness that Inclusion Africa has learned of the passing of Grace Bhembe, National Coordinator of Parents of Children with Disabilities in Eswatini and a tireless champion for the rights, dignity and inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities and their families.

Grace dedicated her life to advancing the voices of persons with intellectual disabilities and indeed wider disabilities, particularly children and self-advocates, ensuring that they were not only heard but meaningfully included in decisions affecting their lives.
She was a passionate advocate for inclusive education, disability rights and the empowerment of families, and consistently called for greater opportunities and platforms for self-advocates to lead conversations on issues that matter to them.

Through her work in Eswatini and across the disability movement, Grace inspired many with her unwavering commitment to inclusion, equality and social justice.

Grace leaves behind a powerful legacy of advocacy, courage and compassion that will continue to inspire generations of self-advocates, families, disability organisations and human rights defenders.

On behalf of the Inclusion Africa family, we extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, the Parents of Children with Disabilities in Eswatini, and the wider disability movement in Eswatini and beyond.

May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to light the path towards a more inclusive Africa.
