Featured Artist-Christy Hannah, is a self- taught artist who works in mixed media with focus on acrylic paint. Her work is heavily influenced by nature and wildlife. Noting her love of details and still the opposite, abstract impressionistic art, she seeks to display these styles in her pieces. Her works have been exhibited in various galleries both in Kenya and abroad, where she undertook an artist residency at the Ottawa School of Art.

Once the submission deadline passes we will begin the process of selection and communicate to the featured artists by end of August.

Featured Artist- , Caroline Mbirua, concluded her education at the Creative Art Centre in Nairobi. She paints impressionistic landscapes and semi-abstract scenes through the use of oil and acrylic on canvas. Her inspiration is the kaleidoscope of colors and radiance found within Kenya's diverse natural environments. Caroline's art conjures up a sense of longing, through the portrayal of acacias and mountainous panoramas in her paintings. She has exhibited and participated in exhibitions, residencies and workshops spanning Kenya, Egypt, Zambia, and Tanzania.

Featured Artist- : Anjali Khamar spent the early years of her career in fashion design before taking a break to focus on her family, she began painting again recently and is keen on experimenting with new mediums. Anjali is known for her zebra and elephant paintings with their play on color and light. Her recent works focus on vignettes of daily life in Kenya; such as road side kiosks with Jacarandas in full bloom and an interesting take on Boda Bodas. We’re looking for advertising support to help with production costs as we launch the 2027 diary - it would mean a great deal if you could come onboard this year. Your support will have a positive impact on emerging artists in the region.
The successful production and print process relies on benefactors such as yourself as we don't charge any fees for submissions and the whole project is managed by a team of volunteers who make time to plan and find support.
It would mean a great deal if you could share this post or DM us for more information. Posssibilities on fundraising and networking are welcome.

The Kenyan Arts Diary is in its 14th edition and has gained a following over the years not only as a diary, but also as a contemporary art catalogue. The diaries, including short artist biographies and contact details, showcase the works of over 750 painters, sculptors, crafts people and photographers from across the region.
We’re excited to announce that after a year off the Kenya Arts Diary will be published again for 2027. We’re looking for new works in any media on any subject from contemporary Kenyan and East African artists.

To make your submission for the 2027 edition of the diary please complete the form on our website- www.kenyaartdiary.com with your contact, profile and up to three images of your current work with titles, medium and size.
Please share, like and tag your friends, we'd love to see your work.

Featured Artist- Brian Arome from Kilii County in Kenya, has an innovative and captivating artistic style. Arome received his Diploma & Bachelors in Fine Arts from Kenyatta University in 2016. That's where he began to craft his style by blending intricate mandala patterns with traditional African tribal motifs. Through his art, Arome explores themes such as identity, spirituality, social issues, and the interconnectedness of humanity.
