The Ruben Centre family is deeply saddened to announce the passing of a cornerstone of our community, Mr. Simon Mugo Nyaga.
For over 15 years, Mr. Nyaga was more than just a teacher at AEF Ruben Comprehensive School; he was a father figure, a mentor, and an oasis of hope for the children of Mukuru.
Since joining the community on 8th October 2010, Mwalimu Nyaga served with a level of discipline that was unmatched. He will be remembered as:
• A dedicated teacher of Mathematics and Science and a beloved class teacher for Grade 8G.
• An achiever, recently honored as Teacher of the Year 2024–2025 and promoted to Senior Teacher—milestones that celebrated his tireless work ethic.
• A leader by example, known for being among the first to arrive at the school gates every morning.
Mr. Nyaga faced health challenges since January with quiet dignity and immense strength. He transitioned on Monday, 20th March, surrounded by his family, Headteacher Mr. Peter Kanyago, and his colleagues.
The Ruben Centre stands in deep solidarity with the administration of AEF Ruben Comprehensive School. While he was a government-appointed educator, he was, in every sense, the heartbeat of the Ruben family.
We extend our most heartfelt condolences to his family, his students, and the entire teaching fraternity.
