Today we celebrated a milestone that will be remembered for a long time. After two years of journeying with pastors and church leaders from the Eastern part of Kenya - Kitui County.
This journey was supposed to be one year, but it became two. The training was disrupted for almost one year due to tribal clashes between the Kamba and Somali communities in the region. The conflict led to the loss of tens of lives and disrupted all social gatherings for months. Roads were closed, movement was limited, and our leaders could not meet.
Faithfulness in the Hard Place
What we have witnessed in Kitui is true resilience. These are pastors serving in the most remote parts of Kitui, many miles from Nairobi, where ministry is done under trees and in unfinished buildings in the middle of nowhere. Even when the training was paused, they continued to shepherd their people, pray for peace, and hold onto the vision of multiplication.
Their commitment proves that disciplemaking doesn't wait for perfect conditions.
The Commissioning Day - Today
Today, peace allowed us to gather again. We had the joy of gathering *10 churches from across the most remote areas of Kitui County* for this commissioning.
The celebration could be felt throughout the town. Our worship, dancing, and joy disrupted the normalcy of the day in a beautiful way - everyone in town knew something special was happening.
We commissioned faithful servants who have completed the J-LIFE equipping in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ. They are now sent to go and make disciples who make disciples, and to raise leaders who will raise others - generation after generation.
We thank God for:
1. Peace returning to Kitui after months of tension.
2. The 10 churches and their leaders who finished the journey.
3. The multiplying movement that will now start from these remote villages.
Please pray for these newly commissioned leaders as they return to their communities to train others. Pray for continued peace between communities in Kitui, and for open doors for the Gospel in these remote areas.
