Our three month recap -

On the 9th of July we welcomed the youngest member of the family - Miss Orlagh Gweth Obare - she came a little early but has been a busy participant of all of the activities since her birth

We welcomed Calvin our new coach a past national player Calvin is whipping the team into shape before the new league starts

We held a 5 day leadership camp with speakers on topics including mental health, meditation, finance, nutrition, we had a first aid competition, two friendly games, swimming lessons, session on HIV, sexual health, drugs and educational business talks along with much more! This camp was much more than leadership for our new boys but too a chance for our leaders to step up with a documentary on the way of how our original students took the lead in running the camp!

Thanks to Ayub from Rotary Club of Water Safety, Roberta Porter from , Florence, Elizabeth our finance teacher, Peter Generali, Robert from RB Media Productions, Mercy our speaker on nutrition, Joy and Edith from Chiropractic & Physiotherapy for their sessions with the boys not only giving treatments but teaching about stretching! The Green Giants Football Club for coming along for the friendlies and Peter from Art of Living

Thank you to Darwin South Rotary Club, Ross River Rotary and Rotary eClub One and Dashan and Bhumi for their financial support

We received a $5000 grant to fix our kitchen and outside area to make it more fit for purpose - Thank you

We have been in two soccer tournaments and played over 13 friendly games!

We held a monitoring and evaluation feedback session for our young mother’s program.

We took on a business intern for 3 months who is doing well as he completes his business course.

And of course we have hosted visitors Roberta and Brendan Porter, and Vicki and Ron Degenhart!

We played our first official tournament last weekend. It was on a turf field which meant the boys needed a different set of shoes and the teams were only five players a side. The boys played 4 games and rotated so as many as possible could get a turn. This Saturday they will be in a second tournament at CITAM WOODLEY CHURCH

We had a lovely time this past weekend with Ron and Vicki Degenhart. They have been long time supporters of Jifunze and of course their Rotary Club sponsored our pavers and our up coming kitchen renovation.

Mundingburra Rotary also sponsored Terrance our catering student who Ron and Vicki got to meet and share a meal with prepared by Terrance and other boys in our program.

Thanks so much to Ron and Vicki for making time for us!

If you would like to come and visit Jifunze Hiuse be it for an afternoon, week or month please reach out. We now have a space 15 minutes from our main hub for our visitors to be more than comfortable.

Today’s a good day! Nine new members of the chicken family!!

This is the camp where our beneficiaries became our leaders!

Cynthia ran an education session on HIV as well as a session by the bonfire with Bernard on time capsule letters.

Bernard too ran an art class and assisted in the kitchen with Terrance and Zablon who worked with Ian running the kitchen for the week. Making over 450 meals!!

Jesse ran a session on sexual health and was the person on point making sure that all the boys were at the sessions on time!

We are so proud of how far they have come! Congratulations to all of our beneficiaries who are taking on leadership roles within Jifunze!

Thanks to for their sponsorship towards our 2026 camp. The packs also came with a water bottle to keep the boys hydrated over the course of the camp and at their upcoming training and games.

The packs also came with a tooth brush, toothpaste, toilet paper, socks, the bag, t shirt, notebook, pen and soap. These items are great during camp when perhaps the boys didn’t have them to carry with them in the first place.

Thanks to for sponsoring the transport for our camp. A 33 seater bus was needed to transport our campers to and from the camping site just outside of Isinya town in Kajiado County.

We also look a mini van and pick up Ute to carry our additional tents, food, training materials and soccer gear!

Without support like this our campers would not have been possible. Asante sana from all who attended!

Thanks to Dashan Bhumi Shah Rotary eClub One for sponsoring our camp food! 437 meals sponsored across the 5 days!

The campers received a varied menu from cabbage and chapati to chicken and chips.
