The National Youth Council, established pursuant to the Kenya National Youth Council Act of 2009 with the mandate to among other things co-ordinate youth organizations, design and continuously review the National Youth Policy. It’s also tasked with developing an "integrated national youth development plan" in collaboration with the ministry responsible for youth affairs. Here are some of the prima

ry functions:
• Promote and popularize the National Youth Policy
• Ensure structures are established and developed for effective
implementation of the policy
• Design key performance indicators and mechanisms to ensure adherence to
policy.

Today, the National Youth Council CEO Ms. Gloria Wawira had the honour of hosting Dr. Purity Ngina, PhD, Commission Secretary and CEO of the National Gender and Equality Commission (NGEC).

The engagement was centred on meaningful discussions on youth empowerment and the critical issues affecting young people across Kenya. This meeting reaffirms our shared commitment to advancing equality, inclusion, and greater opportunities for the youth.

We look forward to continued collaboration in championing the rights and development of Kenya’s young generation.
