At Makuuni Primary School in Kitui County, climate fighter Kisilu Musya, in collaboration with Nafsi Africa, joined students in a hands-on tree planting and environmental on tree planting and environmental education session. 🌱
The learners were taught the importance of planting and taking care of trees, especially in Kitui’s harsh semi-arid climate where long droughts, extreme heat, and unreliable rainfall continue to affect communities. These climate challenges often lead to water shortages, food insecurity, and difficulties for children in accessing a healthy and stable environment.
By teaching young learners how to nurture trees from an early age, the initiative is helping build a generation that understands the value of protecting the environment and fighting climate change. Every tree planted today is a step toward a greener, cooler, and more sustainable future for the children of Kitui. 🌍💚
