The Association is registered under Section 10 of the Societies Act. It's tasked with the mandates of promoting Tourism in Kenya through direct involvement and participation of Young people who may be students, graduates and young professionals in the current workforce. YATKA brings together young people across the country to participate in events, forums, trainings, travel and other activities ge
ared towards promoting Tourism in Kenya. Besides the association's focus on creating awareness and sensitizing communities and stakeholders in the industry on the need of conservation for sustainable tourism development, YATKA also offers career support and opportunities for students and graduates. YATKA was founded by Joseph Mwenda Munywe a young Tours & Travel Consultant who after being in the industry from 2012 to date realized the gap in the industry on youth involvement and participation in matters of development of Tourism in Kenya. After consultations with other professionals and friends the idea in mind became a reality. We began as a team of friends traveling together to explore the beauty of our country Kenya, then the idea of having an association that focused purely on the Young people in tourism was born, actualized, got legal registration and to date the Association is proud to experience a continuous growth.
