MuYI at the FIA National Gathering | Msambweni
In the past week, Mukuru Youth Initiative (MuYI) joined fellow partners and members of the Fight Inequality Alliance (FIA) in Msambweni for a national gathering focused on reflection, strategy, and collective action.
The gathering gave us an opportunity to reflect on the Alliance’s progress, share experiences from across the country, and plan for the work ahead as we approach the 2027 elections. We also explored ways of expanding FIA membership and strengthening the movement across the country by bringing more communities and organisations into the fight for equality and social justice.
✊🏾 What is the Fight Inequality Alliance?
The Fight Inequality Alliance (FIA) is a growing movement of national and international non-profit organisations, human rights campaigners, women’s rights groups, environmental organisations, faith-based organisations, trade unions, social movements, and other civil society organisations working together to challenge the growing crisis of inequality.
For MuYI, being part of FIA is about connecting community voices, young people, artists, and social movements to a broader struggle for justice, equality, accountability, and meaningful participation.
From Msambweni, we continue to strengthen the movement—community by community, county by county. 🇰🇪✊🏾
