As we continue marking Menstrual Health Day, AHF Kenya is reaching girls across the country with vital menstrual health information and support.

In Turkana and Mombasa counties, mentorship sessions on menstrual health and age-appropriate HIV prevention were conducted at Loyoo Comprehensive School, St Benedict for the Hearing Impaired in Lodwar, and Khadija Primary School in Mombasa. The initiative included the distribution of dignity packs and sanitary pads, reaching 400 girls.

Today, AHF Kenya joined communitie and partners in Turkana and Naivasha–Nakuru County to commemorate Menstrual Health Day under a powerful call for dignity, access, and equality for every girl.

At Napeililim Comprehensive & Junior Secondary School in Turkana and Unity Primary School in Naivasha, we engaged students, teachers, county leaders, and partners in conversations around menstrual health, HIV prevention, and girls’ empowerment.

Through dignity packs, sanitary pad distribution and health talks, we reaffirmed our commitment to ensuring that no girl misses school or loses confidence because of her period.

“No girl should miss school because of her period. No dream should be delayed because of period poverty.”

Together, we can break stigma, promote open conversations, and build supportive communities where every girl learns, leads, and lives with dignity.

This , we’re talking about what often goes unspoken: how stigma around menstruation and HIV keeps girls and women from getting the care they need.

🤍 Poor menstrual hygiene management can increase health risks.
🤍 Lack of clean water, pads, and privacy can drive girls out of school.
🤍 Stigma and silence can push HIV deeper underground.

Menstrual health and HIV care are not separate issues. They are part of the same fight for dignity, equality, and full control over our bodies.

❤️ 3 MILLION lives in care. 🌍

This milestone is more than a number. It represents 3 million people living with HIV whose lives have been transformed by care, compassion, and the belief that healthcare is a human right. ✨

This milestone belongs to our staff, partners, and clients across our 50 country teams, and we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone whose dedication made it possible. 🙌

The HIV epidemic is not over. But 3 million lives in care shows what’s possible when urgency, persistence, and compassion come together. 💪❤️

Onward to 5 million by 2030. 🚀
