At a recent Innovation for African Universities (IAU) showcase, innovators participating in the Enterprise and Innovation Challenge demonstrated the excellence and potential of university-based innovation.
Standout innovations included:
◾Pollen Patrollers: A climate-smart agritech solution that uses AI and smart hive technology to improve pollinator health, support food security and boost agricultural productivity 🌱
◾ShopOkoa: A fintech platform designed to help address student hunger by connecting higher education institutions with sustainable digital solutions that support vulnerable students 🎓🤝.
◾Mega Gas: A clean energy initiative that converts waste and renewable resources into affordable fuel, expanding access to sustainable cooking energy for low-income communities ♻️.
◾JuaMsitu: An environmental monitoring platform that uses satellite data and analytics to provide real-time insights into forests and ecosystems 🌳 🛰️.
◾M-Botanicals: An innovative botanical biopesticide developed from naturally derived compounds, offering a more environmentally friendly alternative to conventional pest control methods 🌿 🧪.
