S.E.R.I.D Centre was founded in July, 2013 mainly by the student of the Technical University of Kenya and the University of Nairobi respectively. The then student envisioned a society comprised of people of diversities, but commonly drawn together by the agenda of human security and progress. The Centre believes that, fractured social relation, very low level of trust and/ or a scarcity of financ
ial resources characterize human insecurity. SERID Centre is registered as a National NGO, under Non-Governmental Organization Coordination Act 1990, as per the regulatory requirement of the republic of Kenya. It is charged with promotion of human socio-economic security for sustainable and reliable livelihood. Our head office is based in Nairobi, with other regional offices set to be established across the country. Our programs majorly target teen children as vulnerable group, orphans, youths, widows; disable persons and older people- as our beneficiaries, with a view of improving their status. The Centre is a multi–actor in a multi- sectorial system. We use micro-development approach to micro-service delivery as a necessity to increase individual’s ongoing development and capabilities. We also carry out research on the root cause of deviant behaviors and radicalism, hence human insecurity. The recommendation are either executed directly or channeled to the relevant institutions for appropriate and necessary steps. In our quest to empower clients with knowledge for regulatory life skills, that enables informed decision, SERID Centre have a half –way constructed block meant for Community Library and Developmental Monitoring Centre in Koguta, Nyakach Constituency -Kisumu County. For agriculture, we have an agritech site at Kisanju - Kajiado County. To further achieve our objectives, we seek to engage meaningfully; the Public and Private institutions, all level of Government, Agencies, NGOs and corporations. We seek to build strong relationship which is mutually-defined. To co-work in reaching, protecting and supporting more vulnerable people in Kenya.
