We're excited to be part of the 3rd National Agroecology Symposium! ๐ฑ
This week, Hivos joins partners, policymakers, researchers, farmers, and practitioners at Kenya's 3rd National Agroecology Symposium to advance conversations on transforming agrifood systems through agroecology.
Through our Rural Women Cultivating Change program, we continue to champion agroecology as a pathway to resilient food systems, climate adaptation, and women's leadership. We are proud that our Program Officer, Chebet Chirchir, will be representing Hivos, bringing her experience and insights on the role of agroecology in building healthier communities and ecosystems.
As Chebet aptly puts it:
"Safe food is the intersection of ecology and health. Through agroecology, we heal the environment to secure the food system, ensuring that the health of the planet remains the ultimate safeguard for human wellbeing."

Hosted in collaboration with GROOTS Kenya, the session will spotlight the experiences of grassroots women who are shaping agroecological practices, influencing local policies, strengthening food systems, and demonstrating that lasting transformation begins within communities.
We look forward to engaging, learning, and contributing to conversations that place women, communities, and nature at the heart of Kenya's agricultural future.
