Last week, Mathare Light Centre welcomed 𝘽𝙚𝙮𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝘽𝙤𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨 – 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙃𝙚𝙧 , who supported our learners with essential stationery to enhance the learning experience. We were honoured to host their team and appreciate this meaningful partnership, which strengthens our efforts to provide quality education for our children.

‎We were delighted to connect with Szkoła Podstawowa nr 6 z Oddziałami Dwujęzycznymi w Sosnowcu 🇵🇱 through the “Rozmawiasz – Pomagasz / Talk and Help” project by the Goodnetwork Foundation 🌍.
‎Our students at Mathare Chang Rong Light Centre 🇰🇪 enjoyed a wonderful virtual exchange led by Magdalena Muszyńska, filled with learning, laughter, and friendship.
‎We are sincerely grateful for the school’s initiative to support the construction of our new school kitchen, which will provide warm, healthy meals for our learners each day.
Together,we are building bridges of hope, learning and Compassion across continents.🎉🎉🎉

Learning Beyond the Classroom | A Journey to Emali via SGR

‎ At Mathare Chang Rong Light Center, we believe that education goes far beyond textbooks . It’s also about exposure, experience, and inspiration.
‎
‎ Recently, our students had the incredible opportunity to travel to Emali Town via the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) — an experience made possible through the generous support of Dream Building Service Association.
‎
‎Along the way, they explored:
‎
‎🔹 Kenya’s diverse geography – from urban centers to rural landscapes
‎🔹 How transport systems work – understanding the role of SGR in Kenya’s development
‎🔹 Real-world connections to classroom subjects like Social Studies, Science, and Environmental Education
‎
‎This trip was not just about movement. It was about growth, curiosity, and broadening horizons.
‎‎‎Let’s keep building futures, one experience at a time.

On Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, we witnessed something special:
Mathare Light Centre officially signed a contract for a generous book donation through a meaningful partnership with Tecno, the Amity Foundation, and DBSA.

These books will bring much-needed learning materials into the hands of our students,fueling their curiosity, strengthening their education, and helping them dream even bigger.

At Mathare Light Centre, we believe books don’t just teach,they unlock futures.This partnership is a step toward that future and the impact will be felt far beyond the pages.
