“As young people in the innovation space, we rely on natural resources to create and develop our solutions. But as climate change continues to disrupt these resources, we are losing time, money, ideas and opportunities.” - Brian Kinyua Nyambura, Innovator & Entrepreneur

“The impact of climate change can’t happen without involving the youth. They know how to identify the problem where it is. They know what solutions they need." - Elvis Wambura, Founder – Special Interests Groups (SIGs) Place

During our conversation on Radio Jambo’s Bustani la Massawe Show, Elvis Wambura and Brian Kinyua Nyambura explored what it means for young people to move from being beneficiaries of climate programmes to becoming innovators, leaders and solution-builders.

The discussion touched on the realities of climate change at the community level, youth innovation, climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, green opportunities, inclusion and the need for greater support for young climate innovators.
The conversation also brought the call for action closer to home:
“Let us start somewhere. Let us start small and expand it.”

From ideas to action, young people have a critical role to play in building a more resilient and sustainable future.

From Growth to Resilience

From seedlings to thriving crops, the transformation is taking root through the SSY Project.

In Kibra, Nairobi, capsicum plants are flourishing inside our greenhouse, making the most of limited urban space.

These before and after moments show more than plant growth, they reflect how climate-resilient infrastructure is helping farmers adapt to changing weather, conserve resources, and strengthen food and income security.
