Good afternoon good people, I wish to inform members that we have been working on the Social Enterprise arm of our NGO (Viwa Junior Foundation) to enhance the sustainability of our organizational projects as well as helping us to offset the administrative costs that come with running the organization.
That said, members made proposals on the best Social Enterprise that should adopted by the Board of Directors.
Of the man proposals, the Board of Viwa Junior Foundation selected the Microfinance project and dubbed it VIWA FOUNDATION ENDELEZA JAMII CREDIT where we shall be indirectly funding education by empowering women and youths economically through microloans at LOW INTEREST RATES to enable them start and run businesses (converting them from job seekers to job creators). The income earned from the business ventures will enable the beneficiary families to afford basic needs as well as payment of school fees.
The decision to run a microfinance social enterprise under our org is in line with our core objectives as well as our specific objectives which includes poverty reduction among Kenyan most vulnerable families.
We therefore have developed lending policies, financial policies, client protection policies as well as project implementation procedures to guide our operations going forward.
We have proposed the following for our first project cohort:
Target Population: 150 Women and youths
County: Nairobi
Total Budget: Ksh. 4,748,165.00(Approximately 38,000.00 US Dollars)
Mode of operation is as follows:
The above budget will include a Revolving Fund of Ksh. 3,150,000.00(25,200.00 US Dollars).
Mandatory training for selected beneficiaries
Continuous M&E after project rollout until the first cohort successfully completes the one-year loan repayent.
Fellow Kenyans and the World I hereby call upon investors to invest with our Social Enterprise (VIWA FOUNDATION ENDELEZA JAMII CREDIT PROGRAM) to help us achieve our organization objectives.
Thank you.
