When leaders take time to learn and prepare together, the impact on children becomes even stronger.
On Saturday 18th April, Karibu Camps leaders held a succesful training day to ensure leaders are well prepared for camps. The morning session focused on practical ways of running camps. Leaders were reminded how camps create spaces to children to participate freely, build friendships, and grow in confidence.
The second session focused on safeguarding training, reaffirming our Karibu Group shared responsibility to protect children in all our activities. At Edmund Rice Karibu, safeguarding is not just a policy but a commitment to ensure that every child we work with is respected, safe, and supported.
The day also offered a quiet moment of remembrance as members gathered around the tree planted in honour of Br. Peter Cole. His dedication to walking with children and young people continues to inspire the Karibu Group work. Br. Peter often reminded us that we should “have faith that the good seed will grow in children.” This words continue guiding our missions and Karibu Camp believe in the potential of every child and nurturing environments where that potential can grow
