I Afrika

I Afrika I Afrika aims to take street boys out of this hopeless situation, providing detox, shelter, food, clothing, schooling and Christian family.

I Afrika is a grassroots organisation which provides holistic care for boys who had been left to fend for themselves on the harsh, unforgiving streets of Nairobi. I Afrika gives street boys a second shot at a safe and productive life, with hope for the future. With more than eighty young men rescued since it started in 2008, the centre is currently home to boys between 5 and 18 years old. I Afrika

also works with those boys and men who are not able to leave the streets, giving them health education, counselling, and capital for small business. Directed by Peter Nduati, the centre is a registered Kenyan charity and works in close collaboration with the Kenyan Children's Office, the Kenya police force and numerous other children's centres.

Mary’s story has truly been a miracle. We first met her in 2013 when we moved to Lusigetti, and we watched her join baby class, grow, overcome the odds, and rise above every challenge.

Today, her star is shining brightly. Next month, Mary will be proceeding to university—a beautiful testament to how far she has come and the amazing things that are possible when a child is given love, support and an opportunity.

A special thank you to @ jo wright for believing in Mary, supporting her journey, and providing her with prosthetics that will help her navigate life more independently as she begins university.

Mary’s story is a beautiful testimony of the amazing work being done through i.Afrika. From pain to purpose, from little beginnings to a bright future.

As we celebrate Mary, we also remember the eight more young people waiting to join university. We believe their stories will be stories of hope and triumph too.

Sameer is such a brilliant and gifted boy, full of potential, dreams and a future worth fighting for. Yet, like many children we meet, life had placed him in circumstances no child should ever have to face.

The streets are no place for any child. Every child deserves safety, love, education and an opportunity to discover who they were created to become.

At i.Afrika, we believe that a child’s background should never determine their future. We are committed to reaching children like Sameer, restoring hope and creating pathways to a brighter tomorrow.

His story is a reminder that when we choose to care, we can change a life.

Two of our beautiful girls, Diana and Kavira, are on their way to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to represent us at the Tresha Afrika Awards competition!

They proudly proceeded from the Auditions by Afrik Nasaha, earning their place through talent, dedication, and hard work.

For a moment, they weren’t sure they would make it. The cost of travel and accommodation felt like a dream that might remain out of reach. But sometimes, all a young person needs is someone to believe in their dream and help open the door.

At i.Afrika, we nurture talent and believe that your background should never determine how far you can go. These girls have come from challenging circumstances, yet their talent, determination, and courage continue to shine.

A heartfelt thank you to Matt Greenhalgh Flourish - Sowing a seed of hopefor sponsoring their travel and accommodation and making this opportunity possible.

Diana and Kavira, go and shine! Your story is proof that where you come from does not have to determine where you are going.

We first saw Nicolas on the streets of Dagoretti when he was just five years old. Today, our hearts are overwhelmed with gratitude as we watch him prepare to join university to study Social Work.

This is what I.Afrika is a Place of How It is about seeing beyond where a child is today and believing in who they can become tomorrow.

We are deeply grateful to Samira Osman ,James and your friends for believing in Nicolas and supporting his journey. Samira, thank you for helping turn a childhood dream into a future filled with possibility.

Nicolas is not alone. More than ten of our boys and girls are hoping to join university and college. Their dreams are alive, but they need people willing to stand with them.

May Nicolas’ story inspire you to believe that a child’s beginning does not have to determine their ending.
