My name is Simon Gisore Omboga, I am a 35 year old gentleman from Africa- Kenya, living in the Capital Nairobi. I was born with a condition known as Spinal Biffida Occulta, which was corrected at birth, but left me with permanent weakness in the legs, especially the right, a weak back, a weak bladder, weak muscles to control passage of stool, deformed feet and a recurring ulcer on the right foot.
I grew up in a domestic violence prone home and eventually ended up being raised up in a single parent (mother) home. I was also abused both emotionally and physically (in the forms of beatings) because of my physical disability and because of coming from a single parent family. I have suffered with such high intensity, that it almost broke me; But at my lowest point, I found strength from within, and rose up above my physical challenge. And now, I wish to do the same for others, through Motivational talks Coaching and Mentorship, targeting Women and Children, (Both boys & girls up to 18 years of age, for the Children category)... To help them find strength from within to overcome the unique challenges they face. And also to showcase the importance of Women in the Human Society, and that it is them who are the foundation to it, and therefore should be accorded the respect and honor they deserve. Therefore I began this project under the name 'ICON'.
