Vienna 🇦🇹✨

Sauti Salama is heading to the Global Congress 2026 as a winner in the Young Innovators category.

What started from community conversations, survivor support, and the urgency of responding to violence has grown into a survivor-led ecosystem building digital safety, care, and justice pathways in Kenya.

At , we’ll be sharing our work on feminist digital safety, community protection systems, and Climate & Care approaches responding to the realities young people navigate across our communities.

Our team had prepared to travel together for the Congress. Due to visa processing timelines and related travel challenges, not all members of our delegation will be able to attend in person. We are however incredibly proud that .mwendemusau will be representing Sauti Salama in Vienna on behalf of the team ❤️

She carries with her the work, stories, and commitment of a much larger community building safer and more connected systems of support every day.

We’re excited for the conversations, collaborations, and learning ahead.

Vienna, see you soon 🇰🇪✨

Three spaces at Women Deliver. One thread we keep returning to: care.

We are part of conversations this week that move from global stages into community realities, carrying the same question across each space. How do we build systems that hold women and girls with safety, clarity, and dignity?

In Kitui and Isiolo, climate pressure shows up in water access, in the hours spent on care, in safety, and in how girls move through their day. Through our Climate and Care work, we are strengthening community care systems, building referral pathways with local providers, and integrating clean energy approaches that support resilience.

We are also sharing how our work connects survivor-centered digital reporting with legal and psychosocial support, so that pathways to care and justice are more coordinated and easier to navigate.

Care is where climate, safety, and dignity meet in everyday life.

From community spaces to global platforms, and back again.

Bringing the city to the village 🌍

This is what it looks like on the ground in Mwingi and Ukasi. Community captains, clinics, legal partners, water, energy, care, all moving together.

Building care systems that people can reach, trust, and use.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is speak up. And sometimes the bravest thing we can do as young women is stand beside someone who has.

We are convening a Survivors Cafe in sisterhood and solidarity to create a safe, confidential space for young feminist activists and advocates to reflect on the realities we face when supporting survivors of gender-based violence—especially when systems and individuals with power attempt to silence us.

We believe something simple but powerful: speaking up should never cost a survivor their dignity, and it should never punish the women who stand with them.

When harm happens, we address it. When survivors speak, we listen. When young women defend each other, we stand even closer.

Join us tomorrow, Friday 6th March 2026 from 2PM to 4PM. Share and purpose to join!

As promised, we keep unpacking the 2025 Femicide Report.

Why is femicide on the rise?

Last November, we stood with South African women in a collective cry that women cannot only be safe in caskets. Many of us turned our profiles purple in solidarity 🟣💜 A moment of shared grief.

But this violence is not distant. It is here. At home. Women are still being killed, and this report lays bare the root causes that keep making our lives disposable.

Read. Share. Comment. Act.
Hold the government accountable.
Report violence today.
Leave if you can.
Speak up if it’s safe. It's Safe on Sauti Salama.
Speak NOW!

Yesterday we showed up at because sexual harassment in professional spaces is a crisis.

Women spoke about what has been whispered for years. Law students spoke about intimidation. Young advocates spoke about retaliation. Survivors reminded us how power protects itself.

This was about accountability. About saying titles and seniority do not excuse abuse. About demanding systems that protect complainants instead of isolating them.

Too many women shrink themselves in chambers, classrooms, and boardrooms just to survive. Yesterday felt like collective refusal.

We are demanding safe professional spaces.
We are demanding consequences.
We are demanding dignity.

Last week, the government released the Femicide and GBV Taskforce Report, established in January 2025. We know time is scarce, so we’re breaking it down for our community, clearly, accessibly, and with care.

In this series, we’ll unpack what the report says, what it admits, and what it demands. Stay with us, share widely, and keep pushing for urgent action from government and leaders to end femicide and stop GBV.

If you can, we encourage you to read the full report. Evidence matters. So does collective pressure.

And remember: you can report GBV anywhere, anytime using the Sauti Salama web app. Our safety matters. Our voices matter.

With the release of Kenya’s 2025 Technical Working Group Report on GBV & Femicide, we now have official recognition: femicide is a national crisis.

But the crisis is not new.

This minimalist timeline maps seven years of resistance and reckoning, from the marches in 2019 to mass vigils and presidential taskforces by 2025.

⚠️ Over 700 women have been killed in femicide cases since 2024 alone.
⚖️ Promises have been made. Lives have been lost.
⏳ 2026 is here, and the time for action is now.
