FIDA-Kenya FIDA-Kenya is Women's rights organization in Kenya that defends women's human rights at the national, regional and international level.

FIDA-Kenya is a non- profit, non-partisan membership organization committed to the creation of a society that is free from all forms of discrimination against women. This is done through the provision of legal aid services to women, Advocacy engagement on legal, policy and legislative reform, treaty monitoring, campaign against FGM/GBV/Early and forced marriage among other programmatic interventions. Membership to FIDA Kenya is open to Female Advocates, Lawyers, and law students.

FIDA-Kenya welcomed survivor mentors from Kajiado County for a meeting to discuss survivor-centred approaches and explore ways to work together. The group focused on finding stronger ways to address the county's "triple threat" of teenage pregnancy, Female Ge***al Mutilation and Cutting (FGM/C), and HIV/AIDS. The meeting also discussed how to promote good governance and support women's leadership as Kenya approaches the 2027 General Elections.

FIDA-Kenya Chairperson, Christine Kriss, has today presented the Draft Sexual Offences Amendment Bill 2025 before the National Council on the Administration of Justice, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen Kenya's legal response to sexual and gender-based violence.

The presentation, delivered in her capacity as the Chairperson of the NCAJ Working Committee on the Review of Laws and Policies on Sexual Offences, was made during the NCAJ meeting in Mombasa, attended by Chief Justice Martha K. Koome .

The proposed reforms seek to strengthen survivor-centred justice, address emerging legal challenges and enhance protections for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence.

As the Bill progresses through the legislative process, FIDA-Kenya remains committed to advancing laws that uphold dignity, accountability and equal access to justice for all.
