The actual orphanage was closed in 2013, as all the kids were sponsored into boarding schools. This means they would go to boarding school where the schooling system is more reliable and the education is overall better than their current situation. It would also free up more space in the orphanage for other children to be rescued from their home situation if needed. Further, the Kenyan government
has in place a law that requires children to be placed back with a family member after three years in an orphanage. For most of the children at Maddison House this is either impossible, or an undesirable option due to poor living conditions. Being given the opportunity to go to boarding school means they move forward in their journey, and are given a brighter future. Phase I, sponsoring the children at the orphanage (completed):

1/30/13 update:
We are currently in Phase II, as all of the children at the orphanage are now in boarding school. We have 19 children who used to live at Maddison House, but have been reintegrated with family members. They are still living in extremely poor conditions and need sponsorship. They attend public school but still need sponsorship for school uniforms, shoes and school supplies. This sponsorship is $30/month or $360/year. Payment options are still tax deductible and the same as above.
