Hepworth Juniors FC U15s & Memusi Football Programme Kenya 2025

A month ago we ran a project in Kibera - a project with the boys alongside girls from Kibera Girls Soccer Academy. The challenge - you have 2 hours and a budget of £250 to list societal needs, to prioritise what you feel are the top issues to tackle and then design a solution. Completely inspiring ideas - with the winning concept being brought to life. A social enterprise reducing plastic waste but ultimately benefiting people who live on the streets with sanitary and dignity packs. Yesterday was day one of beneficiaries being reached. Ideas don’t need to be grand gestures with millions of pounds of budgets - but need people to care, to think, be creative and have a deep enough desire to make a difference.

It’s our final full day today. Can’t quite believe how fast it has gone !!!

Today we spent time with all of the groups of people that we have spent the week with in a tournament.

Can’t believe it’s Thursday already !!!!

Today was Memusi down in Magadi. Understanding more about the school, background, spending time with the students and then of course finishing off with the football…and a 3-0 win !!

Well done boys...wearing inappropriate footwear, in the hot sunshine, walking the same distance as an average Memusi pupil's daily one-way walk to school (3 miles). Thanks to everyone who took part and everyone whom sponsored the boys.

10 week countdown until we depart for Kenya!!

Hepworth Juniors Under 15s travel to Kenya to work with Memusi Foundation helping to support a football based programme supporting children and young people in Nairobi and Magadi.
