Today, we honor the life and legacy of Rt. Hon. Raila Amolo Odinga, a true Son of Africa, liberation hero, and fearless voice for democracy, justice, and Pan-African unity.

From enduring detention in the fight for Kenya’s freedom to championing devolution, education, and African self-determination, his life was a testament to courage, conviction, and the dream of a united Africa.

Though his voice is silent, his vision lives on — in every African who dares to rise, speak truth, and build a continent free and sovereign.

Pan African Congress Kenya Chapter stands in solidarity with Cuba! Led by Comrade Chairman Tulu Alfred Pan Africanist Alfu , Exec. Dir. Kimani Wachira, and Dir. Owino Steven Paul, we engaged with H.E. Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández at the Cuban Embassy in Kenya.
We celebrate Cuba's heroic role in Africa's liberation under Fidel Castro, Che Guevara, Raúl Castro, and the Cuban people deploying over 30,000 troops and weapons to free Angola and other nations from colonial chains.
Yet, unjust US sanctions and embargoes cripple Cuba's economy, blocking trade and harming its people. We condemn their return under Trump (after Biden's brief lift) and the influence of Cuban-origin Americans in US power pushing regime change at any cost.

Today we remember Fidel Castro on what would have been his 99th birthday - not just as Cuba's leader, but as Africa's unwavering ally in liberation. When apartheid South Africa threatened to overrun Angola in 1988, Castro sent Cuban forces to defend African sovereignty at the decisive Battle of Cuito Cuanavale. This victory broke apartheid's military power, directly leading to Namibia's independence and Mandela's release.

Over 4,300 Cuban soldiers made the ultimate sacrifice on African soil - not for territory or resources, but for freedom. Today, Cuba's solidarity continues through thousands of doctors serving across Africa and medical training programs that have saved countless lives.

As Nelson Mandela said: "The Cuban people hold a special place in the hearts of Africans." Fidel understood that Africa's liberation was Cuba's liberation. His revolutionary internationalism showed that true solidarity crosses oceans and continents.

Today, I was deeply honored to pay a courtesy call to H.E. Ndongo Dieng, Senegal’s Ambassador to Kenya. Our discussions were both inspiring and purposeful, centered on reinvigorating Pan-African solidarity by addressing the barriers hindering our collective progress. We reaffirmed our commitment to realizing the vision of our founding fathers—a united, peaceful, and prosperous Africa, where collaboration transcends borders and diversity fuels our strength. Together, Kenya and Senegal stand as pillars of this transformative journey.
