What if financial literacy started in childhood?

Through CashWise Kidz, John Karima, a Cohort 5 Fellow at Kayole 1 Comprehensive School, is helping learners build practical skills in saving, budgeting, and smart spending through fun, engaging learning experiences.
From planning a budget for a dream toy or school item to understanding the value of saving, learners are developing habits that build confidence and financial awareness from an early age.

In partnership with KCB Bank, learners receive piggy banks and access to savings accounts, turning financial literacy lessons into real-world practice.

We celebrate John for demonstrating the kind of leadership that expands opportunities for children and equips them with the skills and confidence to shape their futures.

We are proud to celebrate the incredible achievements of our partner schools at the Climate Innovation Challenge (CIC) Showcase 2026 held at the National Museums of Kenya, Nairobi .

Through our Climate Education and Leadership (CEL) Program, learners showcased bold, youth-led climate solutions addressing real environmental challenges within their communities. Out of over 300 global submissions, our partner schools received recognition across multiple award categories:

πŸ† Most Outstanding Entry Award – International Category
Vuka Green Club – Kivandini Comprehensive School, Machakos County, Kenya

🌱Most Practical & Effective Concept Award
Multi Purpose Pyramid Garden– Joel Omino Comprehensive School, Kisumu County, Kenya

πŸ‘Honourable Mentions
St. Mary’s Nyalenda Comprehensive School – Kisumu County
Kudho Comprehensive School – Kisumu County

These recognitions reflect the power of equipping learners with climate knowledge, leadership skills, and opportunities to drive change in their schools and communities. Through climate education clubs and innovation projects, learners are not only understanding the realities of climate change but actively creating practical, community-centered solutions for a more sustainable future.

We also celebrate the over 20 Climate Education Ambassadors (CEAs), system teachers, coaches, and stakeholders whose mentorship and dedication continue to inspire young changemakers across Kenya.

We are equally honoured that we received the Ripple Effect Award in recognition of the growing impact of our climate education efforts.

Together, we continue advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 13 (Climate Action) by empowering learners to lead climate action today for a better tomorrow.

Every child deserves to come home safe.

The growing reports of missing, assaulted, and murdered children across our country are heartbreaking and deeply alarming.

Children deserve protection, families deserve peace of mind, and communities deserve systems that respond with urgency and care.

Protecting children is all of our responsibility.
