The Youth Agency for Development of Science, Technology and Innovation (YADSTI) is an initiative of young scientists whose goal is to engage youth in promoting Science, Technology & Innovation (STI) as a tool for development. It seeks to create purpose-driven networks and linkages with stakeholders in STI, institutions of higher learning and communities through education, research and application
of STI on specific challenges facing Kenyans. The Agency works closely with government institutions and private sector players in order to actualize its objectives. It is in the process of creating a critical mass of youth in STI to be drawn from tertiary level institutions. These youth will be trained and empowered along the Agency’s four Strategic Thrusts / Pillars of Excellence namely;
(i) Promotion of Science, Technology & Innovation (STI)
(ii) Youth Empowerment and Capacity Building in STI
(iii) Promotion of Entrepreneurship in STI for Job and Wealth Creation; and
(iv) Knowledge Sharing and Transfer
YADSTI has been endorsed by the National Commission for Science, Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) as a lead institution in promotion of STI with a focus on the youth. It has also been recognized by KARI as a strategic partner, hence its hosting of its Secretariat at KARI Muguga South Centre. Vision
