Last evening, Our Board Member and Founder & Director of Wabibi Pads, Miss Bernadette, was honored to attend a reception at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Kampala as an alumna of the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE), Cohort 4, Class of 2022.

The evening marked the celebration of Freedom250, commemorating 250 years of the American journey of freedom, leadership, innovation, and opportunity. It was a remarkable milestone event filled with inspiring conversations, networking, and meaningful engagement with alumni, entrepreneurs, and leaders.

As GAHSO, we celebrate this milestone with pride. Bernadette continues to exemplify leadership and impact through her work, driving innovation in menstrual health solutions and empowering women and girls through Wabibi Pads.

We are especially proud of her meaningful engagement with Ambassador William W. Popp during the evening, which made the occasion even more memorable.

🌱 Impact Story from Siaya County – Nyarombo Youth Group 🌱

We are proud to spotlight Francis, one of our committed beneficiaries in Siaya County, working closely with his group Nyarombo Youth under the GAHSO Smart Agriculture initiative.

Through soya farming, Francis and the Nyarombo Youth Group are embracing modern farming practices that are steadily improving productivity, boosting household incomes, and strengthening food security within their community. 🌾💪

What stands out is their strong youth-driven commitment to agriculture as a viable business not just subsistence farming, but a pathway to self-reliance, dignity, and economic growth.

With continued support, groups like Nyarombo Youth can expand production, access better markets, and scale their impact to reach even more households in Siaya County.

This milestone strengthens our commitment to contributing to global efforts on sustainable land management, climate resilience, and community empowerment.
