A period should never stand in the way of a girl's education, confidence, or future.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we celebrate the resilience of girls in Deep Sea Slums and continue our mission at The Fursa Trust to ensure every girl has the chance to bleed with dignity through access to menstrual health education, support, and hygiene products.

Because dignity, health, and opportunity should never be determined by a period.

On Saturday, our students had an exciting learning session exploring how to use tablets as tools for learning and creativity.

Through hands-on guidance, the children learned how to navigate the devices, explore digital learning resources, and build confidence using technology. Moments like these help open new possibilities and strengthen the digital skills that will support them in school and beyond.

We are grateful for opportunities that allow our students to learn, explore and grow in today’s digital world

We just celebrated 7 years of The Fursa Trust. 💛

On 5 March 2019, the first Fursa After School Club opened in the Deep Sea community of Nairobi. Seven years later, thanks to supporters like you, children have a safe space to learn, grow and imagine brighter futures.

To mark the occasion, we asked seven children what they love about Fursa:

“Sometimes I don't find food at home and I come to Fursa and I get a bite to eat.” – Makena, 10

“When we learn together I find the confidence to speak to others.” – Jayden, 9

“The space is light and I feel better when I am there.” – Blessing, 12

“Fursa supports us with homework or when I have a problem at home.” – Grace, 11

“The trips and activities are fun and make me happy.” – Jabari, 11

“We celebrate birthdays every month.” – Rita, 13

“The storybooks, you can borrow and read, we don't have storybooks in school.” – Emily, 10

Thank you to everyone who has supported Fursa over the past seven years. Together, we hope to grow our work so that even more children can experience the encouragement, stability and opportunities that Fursa brings

A quick update from The Fursa Trust as we start the month of March.

Our new Fursa Hub in Deep Sea, Nairobi is now fully open and already being used every day by children and young people in the community.

This year, 21 new children have joined Fursa, and we’ve launched a new post–high school leadership programme with local partner LEPTA, supporting 17 young people as they prepare for their next chapter.

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, children have started the new school year with access to textbooks, learning resources and a safe space to grow.

Our Ramadhan Appeal is currently live, helping provide snacks and meals for children attending the Hub. If you’d like to support, every contribution makes a difference. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/fursa-ramadhan-appeal-2026

Ramadan Mubarak 🤍🌙

In the Deep Sea community in the heart of Nairobi, many children try to learn on an empty stomach. Some arrive at the Fursa Hub at the end of the school day having eaten little or nothing, eager for the healthy snacks that help them focus and take part.

This Ramadan, you can help keep young minds fed when they need it most:

✨ £5 gives one child a week of nutritious after-school snacks
✨ £40 keeps one child fed after school for one term
✨ £120 keeps one child fed after school for three terms (a full school year)

Will you help us feed children in Deep Sea this Ramadan?

Please donate via the link in our bio and share this post to spread the word 🤍
