🚨 Alarming Security Situation in Nigeria 🇳🇬

The security situation in Nigeria is becoming increasingly concerning, with serious violations of fundamental human rights, especially affecting women and children.

Attacking pupils and students is nothing less than attacking the very roots of a nation.
It is an attack on the future itself.

In recent years, terrorist attacks and kidnappings have multiplied, leaving entire communities in fear and uncertainty.

⚠️ If urgent action is not taken, the consequences will go far beyond Nigeria:
(1) mass displacement of populations,
(2) regional instability, and
(3) growing humanitarian crisis.

We cannot remain silent!

We call on all stakeholders : national authorities, regional and international organizations, and civil society to take responsibility and act decisively.

Every citizen deserves to live, study, and work freely, without fear and with dignity.

Our thoughts, compassion, and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time 🕊️🤍 🕯️

For the good of Nigeria 🇳🇬
And for the stability of the entire region.

Launch of NMCS in Monze Diocese!

The National Movement of Catholic Students NMCS -Zambia is set to be launched in Monze Diocese after the engagements made by then Diocesan Youth Coordinator, Sr Stella Chipasula, Fr Dabu, the current Monze Diocese Youth Coordinator and Fr Gerry Karas, SJ Chaplain at St Charles Lwanga College of Education.

What makes the launch more interesting is the fact that it will be graced by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Bishop Raphael Mweempwa, the Bishop of Monze Diocese.

This is more than the bringing together of Catholic Students in the diocese. It is about faith in action in the synodal Church where ZCCB is seen closer to young people, the Catholic Students.

All institutions of higher learning within Monze Diocese are highly encouraged to all.

On the 8th - 10th of May, in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu, a chapter of the Nigeria Federation of Catholic Students (NFCS) held her NFCS convention in conjunction with NFCS @70 celebration.

The seminary received over 200 students from different institutions across Onitsha Ecclesiastical Province, excluding the seminarians, who are over 600.

The event was graced by the presence of the NFCS National President - Miss Ezekwe Vivian Chinweoke, the Rector of Bigard memorial seminary - Very. Rev. Fr. Dr. Albert Ikpenwa, the Seminary Formators, the Chaplain of the Chapter's NFCS, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Iloafor, the Provincial Executives Council (PEC) of Ontisha Province, the Diocesan Executives Council (DEC), the Seminary's NFCS President - Gabriel Isidore Udoma, and other resource persons.

The celebration was a huge success and inspiring.

There was an art exhibition in commemoration of NFCS @70, which was painted by a seminarian - Achusi Samuel, a 3rd Year Philosophy Seminary, who is a lover of art. The painting was inspired by the spirit of NFCS @70, the theme of the NFCS Convention "Hope in our Hands: NFCS and the restoration of a broken digital space and inspired by the ingenuity of the Pater Familia of Mother Bigard, the Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Albert Ikpenwa, in the St. James’ E-Library project to prepare Seminarians to be digital missionaries of the digital space.

All thanks to Mother Bigard, the NFCS National and all Catholic students for making this celebration a memorable one.
