We recently had the joy of visiting Sidon Children's Home, where we spent quality time with the children, sharing stories, encouragement, smiles, and moments that will remain in our hearts for a long time.

Love does not always require grand gestures, it is simply being present, listening, encouraging, and reminding someone that they are valued and cared for. When we invest in others, especially young people, we help build a brighter future for our communities.

Thank you to everyone who made this visit possible and to the wonderful children who welcomed us so warmly.

Let us continue to spread kindness, inspire hope, and leave positive footprints wherever we go. ❤️

We came to inspire, but we left inspired. ❤️ Every smile, every laugh, and every moment shared reminded us that kindness still changes lives.

Why Kenyan University Students Should Strive for First-Class Degrees and Pursue International Scholarships

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives, communities, and nations. As university students in Kenya, we must aim for excellence in our academic pursuits by striving for first-class honors and outstanding academic performance. Excellence opens doors to opportunities that average performance may not easily access.

A first-class degree is not merely a certificate of achievement; it demonstrates discipline, commitment, resilience, and intellectual capability. Such qualities make graduates competitive in the job market, leadership positions, research opportunities, and postgraduate studies.

Furthermore, students should actively seek scholarship opportunities abroad. International scholarships provide access to world-class education, advanced research facilities, global networks, cultural exposure, and specialized skills that can contribute significantly to Kenya's development. Scholarships also reduce the financial burden on families while allowing talented students to achieve their full potential regardless of their economic background.

The world is increasingly interconnected, and graduates who combine academic excellence with international exposure are better positioned to become innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers, policymakers, and leaders. By pursuing excellence today, students invest not only in their personal future but also in the future of Kenya.

I encourage every student to dream bigger, work harder, maintain academic integrity, develop leadership skills, and continuously seek opportunities beyond their immediate environment. The journey may be challenging, but the rewards are worth the sacrifice. Excellence is not an accident; it is a deliberate choice.

💙 Men's Mental Health Conversations #2

In many societies, there is a belief that men should always be strong, composed, and unaffected by emotional struggles. They are often expected to hold everything together, no matter what they are going through.

But in reality, men are human.

They experience stress, pressure, disappointment, grief, anxiety, and emotional exhaustion just like anyone else. And just like anyone else, they need safe spaces where they can express what they feel without fear of judgment.

For many men, the struggle is not the absence of emotions—it is the silence around them.

When emotions are suppressed for too long, they often show up in unhealthy ways: withdrawal, anger, burnout, or even complete emotional shutdown.

This is why creating safe environments for men to speak, be heard, and be supported is so important. Listening without judgment and encouraging early help-seeking can make a real difference.

At PMAK, we continue to advocate for open conversations, emotional safety, and a culture where men are allowed to be human.

What do you think makes it difficult for men to openly talk about their emotions in today's society?

💙 Men's Mental Health Conversations #1

*Why Men's Mental Health Matters*

Mental health affects everyone, yet many men continue to suffer in silence due to stigma, societal expectations, and the fear of appearing weak.

Men are often expected to be strong, self-reliant, and resilient at all times. While these qualities can be admirable, they should never come at the expense of emotional well-being.

Mental health matters because behind every father, brother, son, husband, mentor, colleague, and friend is a human being who also experiences stress, anxiety, grief, disappointment, and emotional struggles.

Creating safe spaces for men to express themselves, seek support, and prioritize their well-being is not a sign of weakness—it is a step toward healthier individuals, families, and communities.

This June, PMAK joins the conversation by promoting awareness, support, and open dialogue around men's mental health.

In your opinion, what is one thing society can do better to support men's mental health?

✨Men's Mental Health Matters
To all women, let us help create and spaces where the men in our lives feel , , and .

Whether connected to us through family, friendship, mentorship, work, or relationships, men also need support, understanding, and emotional safety.

By listening without judgment, validating emotions without shame, and encouraging help-seeking when needed, we help break the silence surrounding men's mental health.

A man who feels emotionally safe at home, among friends, and within his community is more likely to speak up before a crisis occurs.

Let us continue building a culture where seeking support is viewed as strength, not weakness.😊

How can we better support the men in our families, workplaces, and communities?

Today, we had an engaging and thought-provoking discussion during Candid Talk with the PMAK President, Sir Humphrey A. Blessings, on the topic "The Mistaken Realities."

One of the key lessons shared was the importance of surrounding ourselves with people who think differently, expose ourselves to new ideas, perspectives and ways of thinking helps us grow, learn and become better versions of ourselves.

We were also reminded of the importance of values and boundaries, which guide our decisions, shape our character and influence our future.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. Your participation continues to make PMAK a community of learning, growth, and transformation.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

Imagine being a student full of big dreams, potential, and ambition... but lacking a single person to offer guidance, mentorship, or support.

We asked ourselves a heavy question: “What if no one ever shows up for them?”

That question is exactly why we show up.

At the Peer Mentors Association of Kenya (PMAK), we are building hope, nurturing leadership, and unlocking future possibilities for the next generation.

💙 Mentorship matters.
💙 Every youth matters.
💙 Every conversation matters.

A question for you. What does mentorship mean to you? Have you ever had someone change the trajectory of your life?
