Through the SONCA project, anyone can **adopt a tree** that is planted and cared for locally. Each adopted tree receives a **digital certificate and a QR code** that links to its **Tree Passport**, where the adopter can follow updates and track its growth over time.

The goal is to restore ecosystems, support local communities and make environmental action accessible to people globally.

With the advancement in technology, the adoption of artificial intelligence in ecosystem restoration should be embraced. AI tools can be developed to aid in habitat monitoring and species identification. The use of agentic AI in research can also result in reliable research data that can be effectively used in ecosystem restoration activities. However, the risk of AI being energy-intensive, which can again, indirectly result in ecosystem degradation, should be looked into by the developers
