BI believes that how healthy we are depends enormously on our access to nutritious food, clean water and medical care. Rapid research indicated that the levels of violence and stress in our lives, conditions we work and the opportunities we have for love; pleasure and fulfillment impact on our health. BI offers Psychosocial support and well-being after the exposure to violence. This program addresses issues on Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV), provision of specialized referral services for its target population. Reproductive health ‘Panties with a purpose campaign’ that provides girls with sanitary towels and panties to enable them continue with their daily activities. The boy child is incorporated under the ‘Kaka Fadhila’ group, Kaka in Kiswahili means ‘brother’ while Fadhila means ‘bountiful’, generous or abundant the activities in this category range from, health to talent development.
2. Empowerment Programmes
BI has a pool of professionals willing to give their time and share their experiences by mentoring our group of young people. The activities in this category involve life skills training, TOT consultancies, Civic education, Capacity building and ICT skills.
3. Welfare Support Programmes
Women and youth have the potential to change their own economic status, as well as that of the Communities and Countries in which they live. Yet more often than not, Women’s economic contributions go unrecognized, their work undervalued and their promise unnourished. We offer unique entrepreneurship models to improve their lives for economic growth, Scholarships for bright needy, Donations from well wishers and business startup kitty. Crafts making, hand-woven items, cookery and dress making. This is a skills for life initiative; where beneficiaries learns skills that empower them to earn income .One of them is the ‘Mrembo Sawa’ where we Train Professional Housekeepers, who are available on call, on contract and relieving expatriates when touring in and out of the country.
