Overcomers By Grace We offer non-formal and formal education and daily living skills

Overcomers by Grace(OBG) is a registered non-profit organization which provides opportunities for people with special needs, to build a brighter future through physiotherapy activities. It was a great joy to host this wonderful team visiting us from Germany through Neema ya Mungu, alongside Elfi Muutuki. Their visit was truly encouraging as they spent time with the children and witnessed the positive progress we are making in our ministry.
We shared a meal together, exchanged encouragement, and strengthened our partnership in bringing hope to these children through rehabilitation, counseling, and the provision of assistive equipment. It is a true blessing to walk this journey together.

Happy World Autism Awareness Day
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental condition that influences how individuals communicate, interact, and experience the world around them.
Every person on the spectrum has unique strengths, perspectives, and potential. Let us create a world where every child is supported, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.

This week, we celebrated all that God has done through Ruthie during her time at OBG.
Ruthie joined us from Vancouver, Canada through Africa Inland Mission (AIM) and spent two months serving at OBG. As a professional dancer, she shared her passion by teaching dance lessons to the children and staff bringing joy and creativity into their lives. Beyond that, she connected well with the children and supported the staff in many meaningful ways.

Ruthie has truly been a great blessing to OBG, and her presence will be deeply missed. We are so grateful for the time, energy, and love she poured into OBG. We thank God for such wonderful connection.

Through the generous donation of some gracious donors, we were blessed with a wonderful celebration day. We shared a delicious meal, played fun games, and the children were happy to receive new gifts. It was a great way to end the week. Everyone had fun.

What a wonderful way to end the week! We had an amazing outing with our children at Capital Centre in Nairobi as we begin the midterm break.

Our first stop was Naivas, where the children had a fantastic hands-on learning experience. They got the opportunity to explore the supermarket, select a few items with guidance from our staff, and even practice paying at the counter. It was such an exciting moment for them to understand how shopping is done in real life.

Afterwards, we treated them to a delicious lunch at Pizza Inn. The smiles on their faces said it all.

We are so proud of our children and grateful for opportunities like these that allow them to learn and create beautiful memories together.

We are greatful to welcome Ruthie to our team!
Ruthie joins us from Vancouver, Canada, serving with Africa Inland Mission for a couple of months here at OBG. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and hopes to pursue a postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy. With seven years of experience as a dance teacher, she brings both skill and passion to everything she does.

Ruthie has a special heart for children with diverse abilities and is deeply grateful to OBG for the opportunity to learn from and serve alongside the team. Since arriving, she has been teaching dance lessons and actively engaging the children in various activities.
The children have already grown very fond of her, and we are so thankful for the energy, joy, and dedication she brings to us.

It was a great to welcome Clay Morrison and his family and spend time together. We truly appreciated the opportunity to share with him the work we are doing at OBG. Clay left Kenya 20 years ago after attending New City Nairobi, and he was a close friend of the late Shafkat, the founder of OBG. It was good to welcome him back now with his family.
Thank you so much, Clay, for taking the time to visit us and for the wonderful moments we shared together.

We also love birthdays at OBG! This week we celebrated one of our own our sweet Karl, who just turned 14. We thank God for his life and are so grateful to celebrate him.

We were so blessed this week to host a team from Grace Presbyterian Church in South Carolina, USA, through friends from our church.
It was deeply encouraging to hear from team members who are parenting children with special needs and to witness how God is using them just as they are. We shared a beautiful time of learning from one another and encouraging one another.

We also invited the parents of the children we serve, and they were greatly encouraged by these stories of faith and hope. Sabia shared how the ministry began alongside her late husband, Shafkat, reminding us of God’s faithfulness over the years.

We shared a meal, prayed together, and celebrated what God is doing among us. Thank you, Grace Presbyterian Church, for blessing.

OBG'S NEW VAN
We thank God that 2026 has begun well for us at OBG, and we are truly grateful for His faithfulness.
We are pleased to share the good news that we have finally purchased the minivan. Since the school term has already begun, we have started using the van to pick up and drop off the children. They are gradually getting used to it.
We are especially thankful that the van has a large capacity and can comfortably accommodate up to eight children at a time. This has made transportation much easier and more efficient.
We also took the van to our church, New City Fellowship where the pastors and members prayed over it and dedicated it to God. We trust that this van will continue to serve as a great blessing to the children and the ministry.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
SHANICE'S GRADUATES
Shanice is a bright and intelligent 7-year-old girl who began her schooling at the age of five. She has a strong love for learning and is always eager to explore new things. Shanice enjoys singing and dancing, and her cheerful nature makes her very social, allowing her to easily make new friends.
After successfully completing two years at Overcomers by Grace, Shanice graduated to a new school. To celebrate her growth and achievements, Overcomers by Grace organized a surprise celebration party in her honor.
We wish Shanice all the very best as she begins this new chapter. May her future be filled with learning, joy, blessings, great success.
