"Tunapanda" is a Swahili word that connotes us, as a group, moving upward, climbing, planting and growing. Everyone on our planet makes up an interconnected group, and we truly believe that everyone benefits when more of Earth's citizens have access to education. Tunapanda Institute focuses on improving digital literacy and encouraging self expression. We do this by sharing free content and micro
-curricula both offline (via local networks) and online. Our goal is to use technology and free content to help millions of people in all countries climb out of poverty and achieve personal freedom. We try to avoid invoking pity, which makes fundraising more challenging. But the opposite of pity is fun, and the best learning happens when you're laughing, so I think we'll find a way. Some things we do include creating content, setting up computer networks with local partners, so far in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, as well as running training programs in digital era skills like web design, computer programming, graphic design, business, etc. Basically, we think that anyone who wants to work hard and learn digital era skills should be able to do so. We don't like that some people can't even afford to download "free" video learning content. We're very lucky to have interesting challenges to tackle, and to see young people (ourselves and our volunteers included) developing valuable skills every day. Thanks for your support!
