Thanks so much to everyone who participated in today's Learning and Development Roundtable on "Getting motivated and building healthy habits (especially if you’re lagging and sagging)."

From tools to look inwards (your motivation style, mindset, and three G's) to looking outwards (your reaction to inner and outer expectations, 3D'ing it, and James Clear's wonderful insight on how to build healthy habits), we appreciate all of the enthusiastic participants.

And it was also fun to wish ourselves a happy 13th birthday! Yes, the Learning and Development Roundtable is 13 years old this month.

Learning and Development Roundtable members have already received the PowerPoint deck.

As usual, all the other resources will be sent out to Roundtable members early next week, including the workbook, recordings (audio and timestamped video), and more.

If you're not yet a member, you can join for free here: https://rockpaperscissorsinc.com/ -mailing-list

And please help grow our community by sending the membership link to two friends or colleagues right now. Thanks!

Youth voices and priorities took center stage at UN-Habitat’s 2nd Global Stakeholder Dialogue with Executive Director Anacláudia Rossbach, as discussions moved toward WUF13 and the urgent need for inclusive, youth-responsive urban development.

Speaking in the dialogue, YAB alumnus and Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh SM Shaikat emphasized how young people across regions continue to raise critical issues around access to housing, land rights, basic services, sustainability, and the need for structured, continuous engagement- not just one-off consultations.

He also reflected on the recent Zero Waste Youth DeclarACTION, jointly delivered by SERAC-Bangladesh, the UN-Habitat Youth Advisory Board, and UNEP’s Children & Youth Major Group at the Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul- showcasing how youth are defining clear, action-driven commitments for circular and resilient cities.

Three proposals were shared to institutionalize youth engagement across UN-Habitat’s work:

• A Standing Youth & Civil Society Advisory Mechanism
• Scaling Urban Youth Councils globally to formalize youth–local government collaboration
• Integrating youth-generated evidence into UN-Habitat policy processes and WUF13 pathways

As youth continue to bring forward the realities and aspirations of their communities, the YAB remains committed to elevating these voices and strengthening their role in shaping sustainable, inclusive urban futures.

From Istanbul to the world- youth have spoken loud and clear: the future is not disposable.

At the Zero Waste Forum 2025, young changemakers adopted the Youth DeclarACTION on Zero Waste Living- a global call for justice, inclusion, and circular innovation. Together with partners Children and Youth Major Group to UNEP and SERAC-Bangladesh, we’re proud to stand with youth leading the transition toward a waste-free and climate-resilient planet. ♻️
