Today marked the first of two entrepreneurship training sessions aimed at empowering young people with practical business and livelihood skills.

Participants learned to identify business opportunities, develop self-confidence, cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset, and the fundamentals of starting and managing a business. The interactive session also provided a valuable platform for our youth and trainees from .org programs to interact, exchange ideas, and learn from one another.

Through initiatives like these, we are equipping youth with the knowledge and skills they need to create sustainable livelihoods, become job creators, and contribute positively to the community.

We proudly join the global community in celebrating the World Environment Day as part of our commitment to Climate Action and WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programs.

The day serves as an opportunity to raise awareness on environmental conservation, promote sustainable practices, and encourage communities to take action against climate change. Through tree planting, environmental education, clean-up activities, and advocacy on proper waste management, we empower community members to become responsible stewards of the environment.

As an organization, we recognize the strong connection between a healthy environment, access to clean water, improved sanitation, and community well-being. By celebrating World Environment Day, Doors of Hope reaffirms its commitment to creating greener, cleaner, and healthier communities for present and future generations.

20 years after the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the conversation continues, and so does the movement for inclusion. 💙♿

At Doors of Hope Kenya, we believe inclusion should not be optional. Every child, woman, youth, and person with a disability deserves equal opportunities, dignity, accessibility, and a voice in society.

This community dialogue with caregivers and families reminds us that true inclusion begins when every person is heard, supported, and empowered.

Let’s make inclusivity ours.

Let’s make accessibility ours.

Let’s make dignity ours.

Let’s make the future ours.

Together, we can build a society where no one is left behind.

At only 3 years old, Stacy is already making big steps every day. 💜

During an occupational therapy session at Doors of Hope Kenya, the child with Down syndrome took part in fun activities that help improve strength, balance, coordination, and sensory development. Through scooter play, muscle stimulation, massage therapy, and guided exercises, the session was full of smiles, learning, and progress.

To many people, it may just look like play. But for this child, every movement is a step towards becoming more independent and confident in daily life.

These small wins matter. Sitting better, balancing well, responding to sensory activities, and improving movement are milestones worth celebrating.

At Doors of Hope Kenya, we believe every child deserves support, care, and the chance to reach their full potential.

Today, I had the privilege of joining the Dr. Michael Munene, PhD,of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD), representatives from UNDP, and disability rights advocate at the National Disability Dialogue Conference 2026.

Together, we explored how to move from policy to practice in building an inclusive society with a special focus on unpaid care work by caregivers.
Caregivers, especially those supporting children and persons with disabilities, shoulder immense responsibilities that sustain families and communities. Yet their contributions often remain invisible in policy frameworks. Recognizing and valuing unpaid care is not just a social protection issue it is a cornerstone of inclusive development.

Key reflections from our dialogue:
Care systems must be reimagined to ensure caregivers are supported, empowered, and included in decision‑making.

Policy commitments must translate into practice, with concrete actions that reduce barriers and strengthen social protection.

Partnerships matter collaboration between government, UN agencies, OPDs, and grassroots organizations is essential to drive systemic change.

At Doors of Hope Kenya, we remain committed to amplifying caregiver voices, advancing disability inclusion, and ensuring that care work is recognized as critical infrastructure for a prosperous society.

Every child deserves the chance to walk, play, and move through life with dignity.

Today, our therapist used pieces of cloth to support a young girl with cerebral palsy during walking therapy because we lack adequate rehabilitation equipment. Despite the challenge, the session continued.

This is the reality for many children with disabilities in underserved communities. Skilled therapists are ready to help. Caregivers show up every day with courage and commitment. Children fight hard to achieve milestones that many people take for granted. Yet limited resources continue to slow their progress.

Proper therapy equipment can completely change a child’s journey. A walking aid can improve balance and mobility. Supportive rehabilitation tools can strengthen muscles, reduce complications, and help children gain greater independence. Early intervention matters, but access remains a major challenge for many families.

We refuse to let disability define a child’s future. We continue providing therapy, rehabilitation support, and hope, even with limited resources. But we cannot do it alone.

We are inviting partners, donors, organizations, and well-wishers to support our rehabilitation program by helping us acquire:
• Pediatric walking aids
• Therapy and rehabilitation equipment
• Supportive seating and mobility devices
• Inclusive therapy resources for children with disabilities

Your contribution can help a child take their next step. Literally.
