Today we celebrated International Youth day at our new centre Tuffoam by adding a skill to our students, we were taught by one of us on how to make soap and Jik and each one of them has promised to start making for themselves and sell to earn a living

🎉 Celebrating International Youth Day 🎉
Today we came together to celebrate our amazing youth with a day full of learning, honesty, and connection. 💛

We tackled real conversations around mental health, gender-based violence (GBV), and menstrual hygiene topics that matter but don't always get talked about enough. We were also joined by Mabbri and Nzioka from , who added so much value to the discussion.
We didn't stop at talk our youth got hands on practical lessons on safe s*x practices and correct protection use, empowering them with knowledge to make informed choices. 💪

Of course, no youth day is complete without some fun, We wrapped up with games and snacks, celebrating our incredible young people and everything they bring to our community. 🙌

Thank you to everyone who came out and made today unforgettable. Here's to a healthier, more informed, and more empowered generation.

On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, the Doors of Hope team conducted a successful community outreach at Tuffoam. During the visit, we carried out market research to better understand the needs of the community while introducing residents to our Training Centre, Therapy Sessions, and the support services we offer.

We also created awareness on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), educating community members on its effects, the importance of prevention, and the available support for survivors.

We were able to reach 50 community members, engaging them in meaningful conversations and sharing information about our programs and services.

This outreach was an important opportunity to connect with the community, listen to their needs, and build strong relationships. As we continue to expand our impact, we are working towards opening a new Doors of Hope branch in Tuffoam to bring our services closer to the community.

Together, we are building informed, empowered, and resilient communities.

Today was a reminder that ability has no limits when opportunity is given. We had the privilege of engaging learners with disabilities and young people in a hands-on videography and photography training, where they explored creativity, built confidence, and learned practical digital skills.

Every click of the camera captured more than an image it captured courage, talent, and the power of inclusion. Every lesson shared was a step towards empowering these young minds to tell their own stories, express their creativity, and prepare for future opportunities.

When we invest in inclusive learning, we create a world where everyone has a chance to shine. Today's moments were proof that every learner has a unique story worth telling.

Celebrating Impact through YVEP

In just the past 3 months, we’ve reached 106 youth through our empowerment programme.
85% are girls stepping boldly into digital and vocational spaces.
10% are youth with disabilities, proving that inclusion drives true transformation.

At Doors of Hope Kenya, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive. We’re proud of this milestone and invite even more youth to join us on this journey of skills, empowerment, and opportunity.

Yesterday at ACK St. Paul’s, we had the opportunity to raise awareness about Cerebral Palsy and Autism by sharing information on their early signs, the importance of early intervention, and how families and communities can provide meaningful support.

Together, we can build a more informed, inclusive, and supportive community where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
