The African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM) in collaboration with Chandler Governance Group and African School of Governance, led by Secretary General, today held a productive meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government of the Republic of Rwanda on the sidelines of the Strong Nations for Africa Programme 2026 in Kigali.

The meeting explored opportunities for strengthening collaboration in public administration, governance, leadership development, and capacity building across Africa. Discussions also focused on promoting knowledge sharing, institutional excellence, and innovative approaches to public service delivery, drawing on Rwandaโ€™s remarkable experience in governance reform and local government transformation.

AAPAM appreciates the warm reception and looks forward to deepening partnerships with the Government of Rwanda in advancing effective, citizen-centered, and resilient public institutions across the continent.

AAPAM continued its strategic partnership with the Africa International Policy Research Center (AIPRC)) following the signing of an MOU earlier this year. On 22nd April 2026, AIPRC leadership, led by Executive Board Chair Dr. Mwongela Mikwa, MPRSK and President & CEO Dr. Tobias Nauruki, paid a courtesy call to the AAPAM Secretariat to review progress and reaffirm shared priorities.

The engagement underscored a growing collaboration focused on advancing governance and policy innovation across Africa. Key areas of the partnership include leadership development, joint research, policy dialogues, and programmes addressing critical issues such as gender-based violence, anti-corruption, and inclusive governance.
